It almost felt like it'd have been a waste if that were the end of her part in this anime. But here we are. And I'm not complaining. Also yeah. You can surmise what happened in Japan just from what different characters have been saying. Several years ago, Cid went. Monsters and magic came in.

I don't have personal experience with the source from the LN to back that up, so I won't argue that, but I can safely say the studio took creative liberties with the ending of this episode. Source: end of CH 46, all of CH 47 and onwards through CH 48. He doesn't show up as Shadow to save her in the instance they animated. Him and Beta both warp together into the next world, explore, then eventually come across her and the other resistance fighters.

I was literally blue screening whenever I thought about where this story could possibly go, with this goofy MC, the history of the world being technologically advanced, but now being a world of swords and magic etc. But they are literally not forgetting about anything and using all the previously established plot-threads to turn this into a fantastic story, wow! The funny thing is Lupa kept bringing up the original girl he saved saying he wanted to see more with that and they literally did it, LOL. This show is 10/10 for entertainment.
