Mahito is the worst enemy to fight ever he can one-shot you with his technique idle transfiguration unless have some form of soul protection, create an army of minions that he can shape and and control through his twisted imagination, split himself into self aware clones, and worst of all you can't even hurt him unless you can attack the soul which means you have to keep hitting him until he runs out of cursed energy and since he's special grade he has lots of. The only ones so far we have seen with that have enough firepower to keep whaling on Mahito are Jogo and Gojo (I'm counting people who can't hit the soul we have seen Sukuna attack the soul so not included). I thought it was already established that the Jogo/Toji and Mahoraga episodes were outliers having more time to cook in the oven than the rest of the episodes. You can even look back on episodes before those 2 eps and find that some had pretty much this level of animation quality. It always has been varying/fluctuating and never been the same top-notch quality all throughout. It's all just managing which scenes need more attention.

Mahito is a really confusing character for me on one hand I love him because I enjoy villains who are straight up evil and he's funny to boot the whole screaming at yuji then him singing to help his homie drink up. On the other hand I hate this man with a passion because he's screaming and singing and putting this man through hell I understand what he's saying though you are me to itadori because he hates mahito and mahito is the personification of hate or something like that. Either way whenever he gets got I'm gonna be the first one standing up and clapping because first it was my man junpei now nanami where is the Naruto/Naruto shippuden psyche out or revival when you need it. Junpei was a lost cause unfortunately but nanami could've survived if he made it back to ieriri fried or not he just would've been crispy. He was the goat of shibuya because things would've been a lot worse without him. Unlike with Junpei i knew this was coming but it still hurt like hell the animators and composer put that extra sauce on it and it was cooked to perfection though R.I.P. the 🐐. Sidenote these animators been cooking all season another great fight sequence I don't remember all that happening during their fight but it's been a while since reading it that scene with them inching closer to each other to swing was hilarious 😂.

It hit me hard af. I'm a manga reader so I already knew hoe he was going out. And yeah the manga hit real hard cause they show he's alive just to kill him right after. Two or three panels and he's just...dead. And then I watched this episode, and they drew it out - with added scenes of him smiling and enjoying something for once in his life, at peace, just...living. No stress, no pain, no worry. THAT hit me harder than the manga did. You get to see what his paradise will be. You get to see that he can finally rest, be at peace. He gets to finally enjoy something he deserves after everything he's been through. I think his death was beautiful for lack of a better word, and I feel Mappa did him justice.

It really makes you feel the gravity of the situation. They were never playing games in this world, and we get to finally see just how bad it is now that Gojo is no longer able to stop any of it. As of right now, the power is being shifted from the jujutsu sorcerers to the curses, and it's terrifying to see how one man stood in the way of that happening. Kinda let's everyone see just how much weight Gojo has been carrying around all on his own up until now. I don't think any of the sorcerers now understood the level of responsibility Gojo had until that responsibility was passed along to them. Not that it's their fault - no one could understand unless they were in that position. On another note, Nanami was a real one. He really gave everything to help others and made sure he didn't accidentally curse his friend before he died. He's a legend and he deserves a peaceful retirement from this god-forsaken, war-infested world.

I don't think he's trying to sound spoiled, it's more objectivity. It's not an insult to the animators in any regard because they're beyond pressed for time. But a majority of them aren't satisfied with what they've been able to do because of the constraints around them and have still done amazing work. This ep was obviously a step down compared to the last few which was expected but it's definitely not bad. I can only speak for myself as a studying animator, but a lot of times people aren't speaking out of just being negative for the sake of it, but more just from a passion for the craft if that makes sense.

I think people are forgetting that yuji is well prepared to kill transfigured humans look back at the mahito arc and the beginning of the shibuya arc when yuji first arrives inside the curtain in shibuya he was killing transfigured humans the only reason he hesitated killing that transfigured human was because he’s still traumatized from Sukuna committing genocide in shibuya and nanami death and also that transfigured human said (save me) I’m pretty sure that reminded yuji about his grandfather dying words (yuji your a strong kid so help others) basically, his mental health is not the best place to fight it’s basically taking a toll on him.

Honestly, this episode felt (to me) like a successful patissier's failed attempt at baking a delicious cake from scratch. All of the ingredients were assembled, and the recipe has great reviews, so it SHOULD have hit hard. Unfortunately, something just felt off with Nanami's death. I loved Nanami, but I felt nothing when he died. We've been told that sorcerers always die with regrets, and I think they mostly nailed that part. The voice acting was great (we're gonna miss you, Kenjiro Tsuda). The visuals weren't perfect, but considering how MAPPA puts its workers through hell, I think the animators did a decent job. Interesting. Maybe that's why the death didn't hit as hard for everyone? Junpei's death had me bawling, but Nanami's death didn't do anything to me. I really liked both characters, so I'm not sure why the impact would be different. If anything, I'd think losing the guy we've known longest should have hit harder, but instead, losing the guy we knew for only 3 or 4 episodes felt more emotional (at least for me).

@Roshi No no, Nanami WAS talking to Mahito, hence why Mahito responded to him AS Yuji was pulling up. Nanami was literally hallucinating the entire time, he's half dead so of course he wasn't able to sense Mahito and walked right past him. Also, Mappa animated that scene differently than the manga. Yuji only shows up AFTER Nanami starts talking to Haibara and Haibara was the one who pointed to Yuji so Nanami would notice him. The quote "I can't say that to him. It'll just end up becoming a Curse for him" was supposed to be immediately after Nanami noticed Yuji because Haibara "said" something to Nanami that we don't see and instead of saying that Nanami just leaves with "You got it from here." Also no, Nobara is not dead, check the time stamps they give during the episode transitions, her battle with Mahito is occurring at the same exact time Yuji's fight is. In addition, Nobara saying to herself "Recall the Cursed Energy you felt back then" was when she did Black Flash against Choso's brothers. Keep in mind, the difference in Cursed Energy between someone who has done Black Flash and someone who hasn't is supposed to be the same as comparing "Heaven and Earth" according to Todo. Her fight with Haruta is not an indication of how well she'd do against someone else with completely different technique.

Nanami dying really messed me up. All the man did was protect his students and friends. Even as he is actively dying and fading between worlds he is still determined to save everyone. I don’t see no issue with this episode I thought the animation and music was pretty good and the movements was ok the only criticism I have for this episode is the manji kick that yuji did to mahito because their was supposed to be narration for that kick and a explanation for how he did that the same for mahito's body repel but besides that everything else was really good what I really enjoyed about this was a lot of the anime only stuff adds more to the fight but I believe there’s gonna be really good animation later on in the fight the best parts will come soon (guys if you know what I’m talking about don’t spoil anything) this is one of best fights in the series in my opinion.

Saying that the storyboard for this episode was bad is crazy to me. While it was admittedly Gosso's weakest this season, it's still Gosso, and he showed insane levels of creativity in this episode. For instance, the scene where the wall closes in wasn't part of the manga. Most ep directors wouldn't even think of that. I'd argue the storyboard was the strongest part of this episode.
