It's really not as vague as you've made it out to be, but more of a situation tied to greed / ego. Yes, a person who isn't completely embroiled in their feelings would pick up on the implications and maybe explore or ask questions. Someone who only cares about what they want would probably quickly dismiss it. And therein lies the problem. He did have warnings and foreboding. He never stopped once, until the consequences of his actions arrived and came knocking. It's too late.

Auggie is talking about fighting and dismantling the corrupt system by being doing things the right, ethical way. Rod is trying to be part of the corrupt system but jus wants to rule it (the one with the gold makes the rules.) Really love this show and it's deep message.

That's how Roderick killed him, by hiding that shit in the site and trying to cover it up. The consequence of both their actions.

2023-11-11 19:45:56 +0000 UTCI feel like them all having all these sexual kinks speaks to the real life rich, and how when you grow up with anything you want and no consequences, you end up trying everything you can get your hands on and developing very intense ways of feeling any sort of love or connection. Not one of these kids got the love they needed in life, the dad created an environment of “impress me or shut up.” This show is astounding. Some of the monologues are so deep and true to life that I was incredibly impressed, especially near the end of the series when truths are fully told. Thank you guys so much for sharing your reaction, I am so excited to hear your insights as we dive deeper into this tale. (And many things said are titles of Edgar Allan Poe works or lines of his. Rue Morgue for instance, and this one with Perry was The Mask of the Red Death. They each die in a way that is a nod to a different Poe short story.)
