Yeah her power is super useful and all that, but will she cooperate with them? They helped her because they didnt want her to die (they are forced tbh, or else they die too), but they will never trust her completely. Now she seems to be able to read other people's mind without touching them, she reads them like a book. Theoretically, they should trust her completely, and have her assisting them in learning Shetty's plan and stopping her from researching the supe-killing virus, but most definitely they would not be able to do that. Look, I dont say that she doesnt deserve a second chance, but the posibility that she will do more harm than good is higher.

She can't just hit her head on an arcade machine and get hurt. Even bullets won't hurt any of these characters Note: some supes are more durable than others (i.e. Sam, Male Jordan, Solier Boy, Homelander) In most cases having skin as durable as steel might stop a bullet, but if that's your limit, a direct missile or grenade is still finna take you out. Kimikos the one exception, probably because it would be hard to show a "Healing-Factor" ability in a TV show if she's also impossible for normal people to injure.

2023-11-11 16:53:19 +0000 UTCYep the only fucked up thing Cate did was give her sob story for pity points and exposed Andre and Luke's drama involving Luke along with traumatizing Marie with the image of her sister talking shit at her and then trying to escape via suicide. Her doing that and risking them being put in permanent comas was probably an accident because she as extremely powerful mental abilities and she even said so herself that her mental thoughts are so loud that it scares her which is believable because we all have intrusive thoughts. Imagine being a powerful psychic and having intrusive thoughts that your powers easily act on. This is probably why when she uses her powers, she tells people to do some ridiculous shit. And she seems to do it at extremely high strung situations like if she's upset or scared which is probably why she told Luke that Sam is dead. It was just one of her loud intrusive thoughts coming out of her mouth during an intense situation.

Yeah her situation was fucked up, and she was manipulated by Shetty (kind of ironic that her power is manipulating other people's mind), but this was going on for years, and you cannot tell me that she didnt have even one chance to make it right. Maybe they can forgive her if she confessed after Luke's death, or at least not erasing their memories after they found out the truth. Like, how is she supposed to compensate for them after what she did? I dont think they can forgive her either, although they do not want her to die. The only way that they can somehow accept her is that she sacrifice herself to save one of them (either dead or heavily wounded), or else she will probably become a villain after this season.

Everyone was judging Jordan for not saying anything about Luke and Brink but she was literally lied too and trusted Brink from the jump. ANDRE BITCHASS is tryna make everyone look like the bad guy but he literally did the worst out of memories concerning Luke other than Cate. Marie wasn’t connected to them so she doesn’t count. At 10yrs old she accidentally killed her brother and then her parents locked her up behind a steel door and never touched her again for 9yrs. Then here comes this woman releasing her from her prison, giving her meds to stop the voices, and hugging her when she hasn't been hugged by her own parents in a decade. She was a child, she was full of guilt and insecurity, she was vulnerable, and she was emotionally abused by her parents. She was quite literally ripe for the picking to be manipulated by anybody that was nice to her. Shetty showed her some kindness when she had had none for years. A young lonely emotionally abused girl in that position never stood a snowballs chance in hell against a master manipulator like Shetty. And she's been manipulating her for years, shes had years to form a bond and essentially brainwash Cate. Shetty told her she was helping her friends and it was best for them that she do what she was doing. When someone who trusted you and showed you kindness when your own parents didnt and who has that kind of power and hold over you tells you something, why would you think they're lying to you? As far as you know this person loves you and cares for you and would never lie to you

Her "mother" Shetty did via grooming Cate into using her powers and claiming that it's to "help" people and that what she was doing was a good thing. The thing Cate did here that was fucked was show them her sob story for pity and then aired out everyone's dirty laundry at the risk of putting everyone in a permanent coma just to make the argument of "I did something fucked up but so did all of you" . That's the fucked up part people need to focus on getting upset at her for. Oh and cheating on Luke with Andre the entire time even before Luke died but really who cares about an affair between young college students. The other stuff involving Sam, Luke and The Woods was mainly Shetty and Brink being the problem, not Cate. Though going as far as to say Sam is dead to Luke was pretty fucked though saying he's dead is probably better than saying "you never had a brother" because that'd be hard to work around if Luke ever spoke to his parents. Also now it makes sense why Luke was having hardcore hallucinations of Sam. It was all his memories rushing back to the forefront which Cate kept telling them was happening and Shetty and Brink just ignored it like nothing bad could come from it. Boy oh boy. P.S. The Emma Sam aftersex scene was cute and wholesome af.
