Yes. The show shares the name of the Poe short story The Fall of the House of Usher. I haven't seen the rest of the show yet, but each episode is purportedly inspired/adapted from a different Edgar Allen Poe short story (presumably after the first episode to set the scene, as this one doesn't map to any particular story as far as I can tell).

I don’t know if either of you guys caught it but this series is heavily inspired by edgar allen poe. Each episode is inspired by a different one of his stories, the names Madelyn and Richard are in his story the fall of the house of the usher, and the raven is shown a lot in this series

Definitely should watch Midnight Mass! I'm hype for this series as well, very interesting first episode. Those who've seen Midnight Mass know who I'm talking about when I say after that show I can't even stand to look at one of these female characters in this show lol
