If you're discussing Jordan's virtue in the context of this episode then it doesn't make sense to not reference Marie "betraying" them in the interview, which is what a lot of people were hung up about. If you say "Jordan is one of the better people in the show" then that inherently is comparing them to other people, and Marie is one of the main characters to compare them to. You imply Marie is not doing the right thing in the interview, but there is no right thing, the situation is just fucked. Regardless, Jordan's hands are not clean in all of this either, even though they mean well and generally want to protect people. There's a lot more to be revealed, not sure if you've seen episode 5 or 6.

You're here talking about Jordan "actually having a moral compass" which implies that Marie doesn't, and I just gave you an example of Marie saving someone who was about to die as a result of supes taking drugs and being irresponsible with their powers. No matter how you want to slice it, Jordan valued their life more than a civilian and DEFINITELY valued it more than owning up and doing the right thing. Marie's situation is not nearly as black and white as you want it to be. If she goes against Vought and the school too much, she has been told she will be carted off to a psych ward and never seen by anyone ever again. With the information she has available to her now, she shouldn't trust anyone. And yeah, Jordan is a victim too, a victim of Vought and Brink. That doesn't mean the situation isn't complex or that Jordan hasn't done fucked up things too.

She didn't plan to get anyone expelled either, that was all Brink, the only thing she did was reject Marie from crime fighting, which Brink would have done anyways (that's if he wasn't even the person to tell Jordan to do that in the first place.)

Jordan was literally the one who advocated they leave the club and let that woman that Andre maimed bleed out on the dance floor to prevent blowback on them and the school. The ONLY reason that woman lived was Marie's compassion. Jordan has been taught by Vought and Brink to alter their moral compass as needed when the situation gets dire, just like almost everyone else in the show. Did everyone forget the school was about to both prevent Marie from ever being a hero and then expel her? Why should she trust anyone?

There doesn't need to be a new Noir, he wasn't even desired by Vought outside of his silent ninja identity. Noir wasn't particularly powerful, he was useful because he obeyed Edgar unquestioningly and never said a word about anything to anyone. He didn't have the vices or weaknesses that the other supes had. But Edgar is no longer in control of Vought (as far as we know) and Sam is definitely way too unstable and mad at Vought to ever work for them in any capacity. He doesn't seem like he can be controlled and they aren't giving him anything he wants, he is strictly a test subject. Don't get too hung up on what happens in the comics, it's all completely different and frankly inferior to the show. The only things they kept were the premise and some basic qualities of the main characters. There is more about Sam and their interests in him in episodes 5 and 6.

She has to balance what she thinks is right vs. what she needs to do for self preservation. She's been told if she goes against the status quo too much she'll be shipped off to an adult psych ward for supes. Almost no one's choices are their own in this universe under an oppressive organizaton like Vought. Starlight is one of the only supes who has truly rebelled.
