Not saying that it wasn't well animated but I deffs didn't feel like they were snappin considering how well we know the fights are choreographed in all the previous eps.

The art style to me is really nice and closer to the original style of the manga. Also I think mappa might be testing some techniques and animation possibilities for the upcoming "One Punch Man Season 3" that they are also doing. Overall it was a great episode and a really nice reaction :))

2023-09-15 19:40:52 +0000 UTCThis season has generally been a way better production wis. Especially in the compositing department (outside the ghosting and dimming), and has just as good animation. For example Mechamaru vs. Mahito was an atleast top 2 if the best-produced fight to come out of this series . Dimming and ghosting resulting from the time slot change really hold’s it back. Even under the same direction as Season 1, MAPPA would likely still have to deal with these issues, probably even worse due to how flashy and refined the original art style was . But generally, Season 1 had way worse issues that weren’t due to tv regulations . Especially in the compositing department with completely ruining layouts, terrible backgrounds, poor digital effects, etc all resulting form the poor scheduling of s1. Gosso’s direction has also been a gift this season. Sunghoo Park’s action direction will always be missed, but this season will undoubtedly be better produced overall.

I do agree this fight wasn't great, probably one of my lowest in JJK anime so far, but it was also the least important fight in the arc (and the animators had mentioned how the Grasshopper was very challenging to animate) so of course it got kinda skimped on. But I do think that fight will be the low of the season, I am pretty confident that the major fights like next week will be just as good as we expect
