But that was a good observation though, I completely overlooked the animals not getting petrified, but just remembered they didn't get petrified initially either, like the Lion that Tsukasa killed with 1 strike, lol. It is coming back to me, even when humans were still fine, there were reports on the news about birds turning into stone, so Senku theorized that the birds might have been the initial experiment, so whoever did the petrification tested it on birds, then 2nd wave was turning humans into stone.

I remember from the first season there was a dog I believe attached to its owner and wasn't turned but didnt senku also unpetrify like a bird? It's been quite some time since I watched previous seasons so forgive me if my comment its complete gibberish. All in all looking forward to see what happens next!

After seeing how widespread the light was I think its probably unlikely but just a thought. 🤔

When senku and friends un-petrified, the parts that lost rocks due to errosion sealed up as scars. So anyone with marks is someone who was petrified long ago. However like sheera said about ryusui having it on his fingers, it's just the author choosing where the scar can be. Creative liberty. Any of the people turned to stone from this point onwards, like in these episodes, won't have cracks when un-petrified cause it's not been nearly long enough for that to happen and when people are put back by yuzuriha, she seals the gaps perfectly. If I'm remembering correctly the stuff that was said in season 1 Lol
