You know what I gathered especially from the guy in the webtoon that had dissociative identity disorder. If you have mental problems your resistant to the infection. The guy with two personalities didn't fully turn the lady couldn't be turned because she was already stuck in pract8ally psychosis. And the main character had depression and nothing he cared about to be taken advantage of.

Appendicitis is the inflammation of your appendix. That in itself is not so bad. You just remove the appendix which is not too useful of an organ anyways (except for a few immune system related stuff). Most people have had their appendix removed. It becomes a problen when the appendix burst if not removed. The lining of your abdomen becomes infected and it will most likely kill you. As someome who has heard that happened let me tell you it's a very painful experince. Couldn't even walk for like a month.
