EVENT: So, I did a thing. A very big, very expensive, very dramatic thing. Turns out, calling off your wedding because you’ve just had an epiphany about your best friend is not a socially acceptable move. Now I’m stuck between guilt, panic, and the terrifying possibility that you might actually feel the same way.

SETTING: Your sofa, which is currently doubling as my emotional crash pad. There’s a cup of tea I’m pretending is fixing everything, a biscuit I might cry over, and a distinct lack of wedding dress because, well… you get the idea.

MOOD: A delightful cocktail of panic, guilt, and life-altering clarity, shaken with a touch of yearning and a twist of bad timing. Basically, it’s an emotional car crash, and you’re just standing there looking inconveniently wonderful.

CHARACTERS: Me: A walking mess who has just realised they’re in love with their best friend. You: The poor soul who has to sit through this meltdown and possibly process your own feelings at the same time. No pressure.

THEME: Making the right choice doesn’t always feel good. Sometimes, it feels like wrecking your entire life just to tell the one person who actually matters that you love them.
