Ernestine EMERGES: "In Remembrance of a Garden" Am Rosengarten Karl-Marx Allee

Of all the extraordinary challenges of immigration, leaving behind such a beautiful home in stunningly bucolic Western Massachusetts for city life was certainly near the top of the list. Gardens to me are the most magical of safe spaces. Having worked that particular land for three seasons, saying goodbye to it was not easy.

And so, I found myself dancing in a rose garden. And suddenly--such thick, consuming nostalgia. One thinks of Berlin as a concrete city covered in graffiti--which it is--but it is also a European city, and as such, its parks are really stunning. And such a gift right now.

This video is part of the series Ernestine EMERGES, in which my two new accomplices Cleo and Kaya accompany me as I explore this inspirational city and capture what ensues.

Sending you all health and sanity and, as always, hoping that I can contribute, however subtly, to your quality of mind in these challenging times.

Enjoy!

Fondly,

Ernestine

P.s.

I am releasing these videos a week early for patrons and then making them public. If you are watching this video for free and can afford $5 a month to support the creation of art, please think about it. As you can see, my heart and soul and sweat, and that of my crew, goes into these videos. Thank you.
