Hello friends,
If ever there was a time to pull the trigger and hit that "subscribe" button!!!
In January 2020, I'm moving from Boston, MA to Berlin, Germany.
I wrote and danced about this in a previous post; if you want to read my blog post with all the details, you can do so here.
But I wanted to tell you a little bit more about why Patreon is a huge part of me being able to do this.
It has to do with the very secretive and elusive Berlin Artist's Visa.
The Artist's Visa is a unique little piece of bureaucratic magic; it's a subset of the Freelancer Visa that only exists in Berlin, a city with a rich history of welcoming those who are not so welcome elsewhere dating back to the 1200s (with one notable historical exception, obviously).
The catch: To obtain it, you have to prove that you (a) are an artist (check) and (b) that your art makes money (that's where you come in).
You can imagine how useful it would be if you had, say, a website that has all your art on it, as well as a very prominently-placed dollar amount of how much your subscribers pay you per month!!!
Hence, as you might imagine, I'm working my tail off to bring you as much awesome content as possible and get as many new subscribers as possible before that fateful day in January when I will walk into the Ausländerbehörde in Berlin (ya, wish me luck learning this language) and try to convince them I'm a really good idea to keep around.
So, if you haven't already and you would be so very kind...
Not to be totally dramatic (well, I do believe that's what y'all like about me), but if you read my previous post and/or blog, you'll know that my job as an escort here in Boston is not very safe right now because of FOSTA. Hence, my very life depends on how many of you visibly financially support the Ballet Burlesque Project.
Thank you.
Fondly,
Ernestine
P.s.
If you're wondering how this move will affect the content you'll see here, rest assured, I plan to document every heartbeat of this transition and my new life across the ocean in dance. So more ballet! And more burlesque! And who knows? Anything is possible in Berlin... My perennial motto applies: "It will not be boring."
