I was thinking about a fortified camp for a while now. This has roman influences but is very simple in design. A deep trench surrounds a rectangular wooden structure (palisade). The gate is made of thicker logs and reinforced with two transversal planks.
On the corners of the wall and on each side of the gate there are barrels full of arrows. Torches are placed there as well to offer a better view over the terrain.
Inside the fortification are the tents of the soldiers and in the middle the commander tent.
Two of the horses pull the carts and one is the commander's personal horse. The rest of the 16-20 soldiers are on foot.
There is a caulderon and a small shed where they keep the materials and the tools.
