むかし、あるがっこうに、ちなつというおんなのこがいました。ちなつは、あかぐみにいて、とってもげんきで、まけずぎらいでした。うんどうかいでは、ぜったいにかちたいとおもっていました。 しろぐみには、まさきというおとこのこがいました。まさきは、せいぎかんがつよくて、わるいことがだいきらいでした。ずるをするひとは、ぜったいにゆるせませんでした。 あるひ、がっこうでおおきなうんどうかいがありました。こどもたちは、かけっこやたまいれ、リレーなどをして、たのしくきょうそうしていました。 リレーのとき、あかぐみはしろぐみにまけていました。ちなつは、「どうしてもかちたい！」とおもい、スタートラインのちょっとまえからはしりだしてしまいました。ほかのひとにみつからないように、こっそりとはしりだしたちなつは、しろぐみをおいこして、いっとうしょうになりました。 みんなが「やったー！」とよろこんでいるなか、まさきはちなつのずるをみていました。 まさきは、「これはゆるせない」とおもいました。 リレーがぜんぶおわったあと、まさきはちなつにいいました。「ちなつちゃん、ちょっとこっちにきて。」 ちなつは、まさきにてをひかれて、がっこうのうらにあるきまでいきました。 まさきはちいさなこえで、「ちなつちゃんがずるをしたこと、ぼくはみてたよ」といいました。 ちなつはびっくりして、すこしあわてました。「べつに、ずるなんてしてないよ」とこたえましたが、まさきはまけませんでした。 「ぼくはちいさいころ、おとうさんにおしえられたんだ。ずるをしたら、ちゃんとおしおきされなきゃいけないってね。」と、まさきはいいました。 それから、まさきはちなつに「きみもずるをしたんだから、おしおきされるんだよ」といって、ちなつをかたひざにうつぶせにして、おしりをむきだしにしました。 そして、たくさんおしりをぺんぺんしました。 ちなつはないて、「もうしません、ごめんなさい」といいました。 まさきはちなつのことばをきいて、てをとめました。 「これからは、ずるをしないで、せいせいどうどうとしょうぶしようね。」とやさしくいいました。 それからちなつは、ずるをしないでいつもがんばることをやくそくしました。 まさきとちなつは、そのひいらい、なかよしのともだちになりました。 そして、つぎのうんどうかいでも、ふたりはちがうぐみでしたが、たがいにせいせいどうどうとたたかいました。 Once upon a time, there was a girl named Chinatsu in a school. Chinatsu was in the Red Team and was very energetic and competitive. She was determined to win during the school sports day. In the White Team, there was a boy named Masaki. Masaki had a strong sense of justice and hated anything unfair. He could never forgive those who cheated. One day, the school held a big sports day. The children enjoyed competing in races, ball tosses, relays, and other fun events. During the relay race, the Red Team was losing to the White Team. Chinatsu thought, "I really want to win!" So, she secretly started running just before the start line. She overtook the White Team and won first place. While everyone was cheering and celebrating, Masaki noticed Chinatsu’s cheating. He thought, "I can’t let this go." After the relay was over, Masaki approached Chinatsu and said, "Chinatsu-chan, come with me for a moment." Masaki took Chinatsu’s hand and led her to a grove behind the school. In a small voice, he said, "I saw you cheat, Chinatsu-chan." Chinatsu was surprised and a bit flustered. "I didn’t cheat," she replied, but Masaki wasn’t convinced. "My father taught me when I was little that if you cheat, you must be punished," Masaki said. Then, Masaki told Chinatsu, "Since you cheated, you need to be punished," and he placed Chinatsu face down over his knee, exposing her bottom. He then spanked her many times. Chinatsu cried and said, "I’m sorry, I won’t do it again." Hearing her words, Masaki stopped. He gently said, "From now on, let’s compete fairly without cheating." Chinatsu promised to always do her best without cheating from then on. From that day, Masaki and Chinatsu became close friends. Even in the next sports day, though they were on different teams, they competed fairly and honorably.
