Exclusive Interview with Eddy Antonini, Head of Gaming Products for TecToy

I'm very pleased to share an exclusive interview with Eddy Antonini, the head of gaming products at TecToy. As you know, TecToy is a legendary name in the gaming industry, especially in Brazil, and this interview gives us a fascinating insight into their latest endeavours.

Interview Highlights:

1. Tell me about yourself. What’s your relationship with gaming? When did you start working for TecToy? Anything else of note? I started working for TecToy almost two years ago. I'm a gamer since childhood, and games have always been my primary form of entertainment. Working at TecToy, the most recognizable gaming brand in Brazil, is a dream job for me.

2. Why has TecToy decided to relaunch its gaming division? Gaming is in the DNA of TecToy. The relaunch was overdue since the Zeebo days. The company was recently acquired by a large group, which helped TecToy reestablish itself as a modern gaming name in the Brazilian market.

3. In your own words – what is the Zeenix? It's a portable PC computer that can be a companion for your gaming desktop setup or your first computer, fully functional as a Windows 11 machine.

4. How did the production of the Zeenix come about? What mechanisms were involved? We have a reliable partner overseas, allowing us to bring their project to the Brazilian market. We aim for production at our premises in the Manaus Free Trade Zone, ensuring compliance with all Brazilian laws and regulations.

5. Who do you see as the target market for this product? The Zeenix Lite is perfect for someone's first computer, capable of running many modern applications and games, while the Zeenix Pro is aimed at those seeking a versatile machine for a full range of apps and games.

6. What are the unique selling points of the Zeenix? We are proud to be a well-established Brazilian gaming company that understands our customers and maintains open communication with the community. Our industrial process is ready to bring this product to Brazil with excellent customer service and warranty. The Zeenix is also designed to be the most ergonomic product on the market.

7. Why did you opt for the name Zeenix? I understand it’s a combination of Zeebo and Phoenix. Yes, it combines Zeebo and Phoenix, symbolizing our comeback.

8. Why would you recommend the Zeenix over other hardware? It's well built, has the perfect size and grip, and includes our exclusive interface on top of Windows for easier touch navigation.

9. Is there going to be any crossover with the Zeenix and retro Sega software? We cannot confirm or deny any negotiations with SEGA. However, we have a long-standing relationship with SEGA, which continues to this day.

10. There seems to be some confusion online regarding whether the Zeenix is a new, unique piece of hardware or a repackaged AYN system. Can you clarify this? AYN (the company behind Loki) is our esteemed partner. However, Zeenix is a product adapted for the Brazilian market and is unique to our region.

11. Could we see official re-releases of some of the Zeebo’s most coveted titles on the Zeenix? While it’s not impossible, porting from Zeebo to Zeenix is challenging due to hardware differences. Most Zeebo titles belong to other companies, so rights negotiations would be necessary.

12. What do you think of gamers from outside Brazil’s fascination with the TecToy brand? It's an honour to be recognized by the international community. Brazil is very welcoming with a strong online presence, and we invite everyone to learn more about our culture. As we often say online, "Please come to Brazil."

13. How can people outside Brazil get their hands on TecToy products? This new era for TecToy will bring many new things. The international community will hear more from us soon. Please be patient, but feel free to flood our social pages with your appreciation. That will certainly draw our attention to the international gaming community.

14. Is there anything you would like me to specifically add to the video? We are releasing a lineup of gaming accessories in Brazil and will continue to showcase more soon. We also started our own publisher, TecToy Game Studios, and are currently publishing two games: Master Lemon and Damned 2, which will be released soon.
