I absolutely love underground and it's chorus lol but I get why it sounds odd cos the first hit begins before the singing so it sounds off, but it does hit the beats just not the snare (i think it's a snare anyway idk sh abt production)

larry

You're on point with em being the only one u can bump to while talking about this lol cos relapsel is one of my fav albums, stay wide awake and music box being some of my favourite songs but how tf do I play this in front of people 😭

larry

Edward scissorhands was played by johnny depp

Katie L

it is trisha paytas

Zac Tyler

I just realized the Tara Reid in a bikini line is a Big Lebowski reference. Genius

Voxl Valyx

This whole album was inspired by a whole lot of documentaries he watched over the past gone years on serial killers, he tried to channel that energy and train of thought of these people in some of these songs.

Joel

Beautiful will always be my favorite em song because of how INSANELY relatable it is. also cool fact em had written enough songs to make at least 4 albums but only ended up dropping relapse hence why there are so many bonus tracks on refill, alsoooo any other song em has an accent on (I THINK!!!) is a song from relapse i.e. discombobulated off of music to be murdered by.

Kai Hunt

loved it immediately bro

VERTICILE

This albums weird at first but when it grows on you it’s so fire

cullen docherty

Also YES THATS TRISH!! She’s supposed to be fat Jessica Simpson which is crazyyyyy she looks great

Lily Mclean

In his recovery he watched a lot of true crime documentaries which is kinda why this album is so dark. He was also relearning to rap after his OD so that’s why it’s so weird, he’s playing with rhyming words with different accents and stuff like that while he’s relearning

Lily Mclean

Deja Vu came out right around the time I relapsed after 2 years clean. I have been clean for 13 years now and it still brings me back to that relapse. I can smell it. It’s crazy how much power music holds.

Jamie MacKenzie

Hello has been the only song I listened from this album, really great song. I found most of the beats not so great and his funny voices a bit odd putting. I am giving this album a second chance currently though. By the way, crack a bottle also slaps. Again Dre verse written by Eminem. Here he is doing them (and in the end they replaced the last verse with 2 quarters) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=h0cavoByhPc

Also, horrorcore was a rap subgenre that focused on acting out characters that were serial killers and the like. Em was into that stuff, so things like Same Song and Dance and Bizarre’s verses on the MMLP are specifically meant to be in that style. If you want to hear some crazy shit as an example, check out Brotha Lynch Hung.

MzMilena

For real, though, I LOVED this album when it dropped and people said it was “okay.” It sounds like what should have happened instead of Encore.

MzMilena

*pauses song* “Hang on, is this that song that goes dunnnn-duhduhdunnnn” *starts googling* me: breh just… just let it play for two more seconds… and you’ll know… 💀😂

MzMilena

Bro got Deja vu while listening to Deja vu 😂😂

JR_24

any plans on when you are gonna do recovery

Smiile

YOU'RE A ROCKSTAR EVERYBODY WANTS YOUUUU PLAYERR WHO CAN REALLY BLAME YOUUUUUU

ieyelin McGhee

LETS GOOOOO

ieyelin McGhee

The genre is called Horrorcore rap

Cam

suggestions on how to make them more freaky 🤔

VERTICILE

It was 5 years between encore and relapse not Eminem show and this

Th3GamblinGam3r

Can you make a 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 👅 version of these reactions

JR_24

Hell yeah brother. Keep fighting the good fight bro. Don’t know you but you’re a fucking legend

Dylan Connors

It’s definitely up there. Love it

Jack Castro

That album got so much undeserved hate, definitely has some gems

Jack Castro

Very similar story to yours Dylan, super proud of you...I had 3 years clean off of opiates, relapsed for a couple years and now am going on my 6th year clean after all that. Keep it up my man, like I said earlier, super proud of you!!!

Brian Venuti

u forgot to rank deja vu too

Fuh

It does - its not all bad for sure

Alon

Revival actually has some pretty serious gems in it. It's an overall more serious and emotionally vulnerable kinda album tho. That's why he got so pissed when people shit all over it

Brittney Rivera

3 AM is supposed to be the hour that demons are free to roam the Earth. If 12 AM is "The Witching Hour", 3 AM is the Devil's hour

Brandon Poye

Yo bro this album was about serial killers lol if you didn’t know

J-Treinta

bro i'm gassed to see you react to Recovery, it's a more of a serious vibe overall and leans into the more modern em era. Top tracks in my opinion are, Cold Wind Blows, Going Through Changes and Cinderella Man

Jack

TDOSS has the narrative aspect down for 2/3 of the album but after Guilty Conscience 2 it loses that and is a mix of great songs but no real progressing story. Relapse has a completely unique sound for the entirety of the album, even all the way to the bonus tracks. The concept isn't story driven but it's how he completely embodies the whole serial killer persona along with a mix of lyrics and production that you find yourself bumping to a song about SA'ing a woman for some reason. And yes he has story telling songs throughout all his albums but there's way fewer than I'd like. Relapse has a story in almost every song, Recovery maybe about 4 or 5 of them...maybe? It really becomes punchline heavy and you can hear it. That's the album he starts to focus very heavily on the technicality of rhyming above all else.

Ludaman14

I don’t think this post is really true at all lol. TDOSS is a much stronger narratively driven project than this. And there are multiple story telling songs on recovery, MMLP2, Music To Be Murdered By, and even revival lol.

Alon

I think he even said that most of the songs he didn’t even mean to do an accent and didn’t even realize until they were done and he was like oh shit I did accents on everything 😂

Mafi

Except for nice guy 🙃

Mafi

Eminem doesn’t look too fondly on the accents he pulled here. But from a technical standpoint, relapse is arguable his best work in my opinion

Joseph Solomon

It’s all over YouTube and Tik tok and the news, you don’t think he’s heard about it? Lol

Jack Castro

Bro delete this you are spoiling everything

Nørex • (to the next episode)

I know you want to wait on reacting to Death of slim shady, but he has a video trending like crazy and it’s called temporary, it’s a ode to Hailie, it wouldn’t mess you up if you react to it because at the end Hailie surprises Em with a lions jersey with the word Grandpa on it!!! Ems gonna be a grandfather!

Jack Castro

Actually revival gets a lot of undeserved hate, make sure you do the videos on Walk on water and River ( Ed Sheeran is on it) the videos are fire!!

Jack Castro

Surprised you didn't put deja vu in top 10

Luke Kearns

wtf i knew it

VERTICILE

VERTICILE

can't skip it bro you know i got to🙏

VERTICILE

i've heard the live version, fs gotta relisten to the actual studio version

VERTICILE

I can NOT wait for all the recovery album onward reactions

Zeldenx23

Finally finished the reaction. Great one for sure! This is my 3rd favorite Em album. It's incredibly unique and doesn't sacrifice any part of his skills. It's also a staple in his story as a person/rapper as this is the album he used to relearn how to rap and, I believe, to prove to himself that he still had it. It's a great concept album too. Lastly, I hope you enjoyed Eminem's story telling ability to its fullest because this is the last album where that talent is in the forefront. Here moving forward it's mainly all about punchlines and how technical he can be. I think Tyler, The Creator said it best "Marshall got too good that it's like gross. Like too technical and good that it's like bro we can't even fathom this... stop." Still love his later work I just miss when we had a perfect balance of all his skills

Ludaman14

You need to listen to renegade. Jay z and em. His best rhymes ever

ayyy lmao

The song where he apologizes to his mom is called "Headlights." It's on the MMLPII album.

Sarah H

Can't wait till he gets to these albums; Kamikaze ( Verticile You Will Like This One 1000% ) Music To Be Murdered by + Side B The Death of Slim Shady. I only have 4 favorite songs on the album recovery it wasn't a smash album. Maybe when he reacts to it might change my mind we will see. Revival was a miss for me as well boring boring....I wish you would skip Revival in all honesty

Jordan Turner

Great reaction honestly. Its roughly how I felt about it when I first heard it. Though you were kinder on the accents than I was. A lot of the music just doesn't feel like much on Relapse, and its something hes noted in in interviews since. I think his next project Recovery is a lot better and I'm excited for you to get to that one. I think Revival is really the only miss Recovery onward.

Cameron Riddell

Awww you missed the Crack a Bottle music video 😭😭

Tim Colter

In my darling. - And it gggoes - flip em g upside down it becomes 666. 123 123 123 - its basically 666 666 666 a number for devil. Fun fact is that it also comes exactly at 1.23 in the song which is 6. Fucking crazy also one of the best song

BRoxX MANIA

When you asked did he invited this genre/what genre is this? It's Shock Rap. D12 was ALLLL about it. And used to be really popular

Tim Colter

Kollin Carpenter

Agree. Right after Recovery seems to make sense but I ain’t complaining if it doesn’t happen.

Ash

420. Glad medicine ball got re-ranked. Had never heard that before and damn that made me laugh 😂

Rosanna Taylor

There’s an urban folklore/ modern day conspiracy even now that at 3 am lots of paranormal sus shit happens. That’s why he used 3 am as the time in the song.

Mafi

Voting Yes for a Silence of the Lambs reaction!

EarthChild

hell yesssaa finally daddy is back again🔥🔥

xSvens

Sorry to harp on When I am Gone, I actually think it’s better than mockingbird and I love mockingbird, you need to do a YouTube video on it

Jack Castro

Yes it's cold wind blows it has a very similar beat and flow

BLuRzz LP

Dude you gotta do When I am Gone, the video version it has over a billion views

Jack Castro

AMAZING

L1aa

Verti how is Deja Vu so down there on the list

L1aa

Eljac

You gotta make sure to check out Bad Meets Evil too. It goes in Eminems lore

Tim Colter

yes it does go away. speaking about deja vu that song saved my life. now i have 5 years sober off of opiates

Dylan Connors

Thanks daddy vert

Kollin Carpenter

Genre: Horrorcore

Puthylisp

Also in We made you you said em is dressing like a woman, but the long blonde hair character is brett michaels

Chris Miles

Yeah thats Trisha Paytas, hes roasting Jessica Simpson by getting Trisha to play the part

Chris Miles

Not the photo of Christopher Revee(s) during medicine ball 🤣 so good

Rosanna Taylor

That is indeed trisha paytas acting as jessica simpson😂 also shoutout bobby lee never new he was in that video lol

NoBreathing

hope you enjoy it >:D

VERTICILE

no diddy

VERTICILE

can't wait to listen to headlights

VERTICILE

ohhh shit

VERTICILE

And he's back! LFG

Ash

Pretty sure in "My name is" Em says he'll write a song abt drugs and name it after his mom. That's "My Mom" and he does have an apology one called "Headlights"

Random_Guy

REFULL ;)

adrien Fortune

Yass! I literally just started listening to your get rich or die trying reaction cos I couldn't keep waiting 😂

Rosanna Taylor
