It's here....ah...!!!!! The end of the flashback arc. Next week, we return to the present timeline.
Thank you all for your patience these past 2 months, I know flashback arcs can be a lot to go through, and I know certain themes were heavier than what Take Off has been known for so long, and I recognize the dissatisfaction that may come with. I hope it sheds a bit of light onto the characters, as it's something I've always thought about when writing them, and wanted to transcribe onto paper. Andrew and Nathan are dear to me, and they've got a lot to grow from and many things to do, and despite the sadness prevailing these current arcs, they will find a way to each other :) Because unfortunately, I will always be a sucker for the good old soulmates/destined trope, and I'm excited to be returning to the present timeline ASAP and share the rest of their tale with all of you.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, thank you for this arc to help us understand why these precious men do what they do. Will there be an arc for Nathan? I know he is more self-aware, but he has his own demons that made him act the way he did with that artist. That behavior must have come out of past hurts.

He’s had to endure this life long pressure to do what everyone else wants & the first time he’s encouraged to REALLY do what he wants- he panics because he hasn’t really had the opportunity to figure out who he is yet. Seeing Andrew's flashback, I'm feeling even more for him because I relate so much, honestly, and at least he went to a university where he's doing what he loves and realizes the things he denies, even as he denies them. Just...the agonizing and constant worry and not wanting to disappoint, and not wanting to hurt others as well, but yeah......it comes to a point eventually......... And I definitely get Nathan's point of view as well; for someone who knows himself so well and knows what he wants, you don't want to make your partner even indirectly because that hurts you, too...damn; I'm so pumped for the next episode TwT ✨🙌🏼 Just wanna say, Jui, you're doing an amazing job with your storytelling and all of the emotions/expressions; it all feels very real and relatable in such a unique way. Thank you for this story 💙🫂

2024-11-30 01:46:01 +0000 UTCThis chapter is so beautiful and so coming-of-age. Self-discovery and sexuality (and more) are ongoing adventures we experience throughout our lives. We think we figured out how we tick (or want to tick), and then something hits us with a “sike, try again.” Seeing Andrew making that personal choice to not apply to the dream school his parents envisioned for him is so visceral. The short montage of Andrew changing externally throughout his first year at university is so precious because we long for his transformation to happen internally/emotionally as well. And I think what he said about “who will write my eulogy” in a previous chapter is so interesting. It makes me emotional knowing who Andrew will meet along his journey of growth that will answer this question. Andrew is a cutie patootie, and I hope he gets showered with love and adoration for years to come.

Excitement, freedom, happiness, a bit of fear of the unknown, a bit dreamy- just something big and new ahead(probably what it should convey - or at least it feels so for me - , because he is taking a big step). And yanked back to reality lol I've never been to NYC but that panel is like the things you learn from movies 😅 It's nice to see how he thrived in his new environment - doing things he wants making new friends, learning about things he is passionate about. And the little interaction at the laundromat 🥹 it's so sweet. Just the small reminder of home but also to make a new home and family, without having to hide. It looks like it was really good for him. AND then bumping into Nathan!? Omg I love that so much!! And the sock metaphor? Love it! Andrew was the little lost sock but he was definitely found and picked up! Sometimes people do pick lost things up. Aaaaah I like it so much!! As a sucker for the soulmate trope myself I'm screaming, giggling, kicking my feet right now!! This flashback was really great, because it gave more insight into Andrew's ways,etc. And it was short and sweet, giving the important bits of information you need. It was really well done. Gave us all the clarity on Andrew’s insecurities, was heartfelt and honestly moved me multiple times. And then the little nod to them being fated was just the perfect way to end it. Again truely one of my favourite web comics, so well written and I wait patiently and eagerly for the next chapter!
