The Missing Piece (1976) was a book I read as a kid, and perhaps some of you may've seen on my Instagram stories, I recently went to a big bookstore that has been important to me growing up because of all the memories I've had there with friends, with family, and I went because it's closing in December, after being a part of its community for 18 years. I wanted to get something from it for the very last time, and went and asked the clerk for The Missing Piece, who recognized it immediately and pointed me to the right direction for the book, and I know maybe it's just her job so of course she recognized the book, but the immediacy of it made me wonder if it's because the book is read by so many as children, and there's something wonderful about that book.

I highly recommend it, and perhaps it's even more relevant now reading it as an adult. The sequel The Missing Piece Meets The Big O is also great, and perhaps even better.
