The thing that stuck out to me the most about this episode was how there didn't seem to be a voice of reason. I could've understood it a little better if Twilight was absent and Starlight was feeding into Spike's anxieties regarding Thorax and Ember hanging out. It's a mistake I would expect Starlight to make. It'd also be easy to believe that Spike would ignore Twilight if she was trying to convince him it wouldn't be a problem and that trying to keep them separate was a bad idea. Twilight, however, should've known better than to play into it.
