So Backboard has him read a newspaper article about a fashion show put on by Rarity and judged by Applejack to get some clarity on a similar issue. This is either a really good idea or a horrible mistake.
I did not enjoy this episode as I watched it. Frankly, I've never seen Applejack be this far off the deep end before. Or at least, not when it didn't involve some kind of conundrum with her family. And even then, she can manage at least a semblance of tact.
I can get behind the idea of understanding that not everything is as objective as one might think. But that requires balance as well, which this show is usually much better at. Without that balance, it's just heavy-handed - which only works for simpler lessons like we might find in episodes from the first two seasons.
