2025-10-25 21:47:08 +0000 UTCI still have the original cartoon theme song stuck in my head 30 years later! What I loved about this film when I was a kid was how meta it was. The narrator talking to the characters, and the characters explaining the jokes to the audience, all seemed so clever to me. I even had the novelization. And regarding Pride Rock, apparently the real-life inspiration really IS in Kenya. Looking it up online gives half-a-dozen different rock formations that all claim to be the "real" inspiration, but they're ALL in Kenya. So it's not too far out of George and Ursula's way to stop by for a visit.

2025-02-18 01:16:42 +0000 UTCI still remember the classic 60's cartoon of George of the Jungle and this 90's movie was pretty amusing too during my 90's childhood! This was the first time I knew Brenden Fraiser too. Anyway you should check out the second movie also!

2025-02-11 07:30:50 +0000 UTCMan, just took me back to my '90s kid childhood. My younger LOVED this movie and fell in love with Brenden Fraiser, so we watched all the time as kids lol. This was my introduction to Brenden Fraiser, Leslie Mann, & Holland Taylor(the mom) who is just awesome, hilarious, and great playing the rich, snobby mother lol (my second introduction to her was on the original "The L Word" series with her popping up occassionally playing a super wealthy, dominate, condescending mother of one of the main characters and she was always a treat to watch lol)...
