The Masquerade of Want
Added 2025-01-30 05:38:38 +0000 UTCThe grand hall drips with opulence, crystal chandeliers, velvet drapes, the air thick with perfume and the musk of masked guests. You stand near a pillar, sipping champagne, unaware of the game already in motion. I’ve been watching. My gown glints like liquid silver as I glide toward you, my mask a crow’s beak sharp enough to draw blood.
“You’ve been staring at that painting,” I say, nodding to the wall. A Renaissance scene of a saint in ecstasy, eyes rolled back, hands clawing at heaven. “What do you think she’s feeling?”
You hesitate. “Pain… or pleasure?”
I lean closer, my breath grazing your ear. “Both. The finest things hurt” I brush my hand against yours, lingering just long enough to make your pulse skip.....Got you...
I vanish into the crowd, leaving you unnerved, curious. You follow, of course you do. Through a curtained archway, down a spiral staircase, into a cellar lit by flickering candlelight. Wine barrels line the walls; the scent of oak and decay hangs heavy.
“Why here?” you ask, voice uneven.
I turn, slowly unclasping my mask. “Because secrets taste sweeter underground.” I smile.
“Tell me something true. Something....shameful.”
You resist, but I tilt my head, eyes narrowing. “You want to confess. To let me carve you open.”
Reluctant words spill out, a childhood fear, a guilty desire. I drink them in......Weakness is so..... useful.
My fingers trace the rim of a wineglass. “I’ll trade you,” I murmur. “A secret for a secret.” I whisper a lie so delicious: “I’ve dreamed of your hands on me. Of your teeth at my throat.” Your pupils dilate. Believing it.
The game deepens. I guide you to a shadowed corner, my touch alternating between featherlight and bruising. “Kneel,” I command, and you do, not realizing your own compliance until your knees hit stone. I press a silver locket into your palm, cold, engraved with thorned vines. “Open it.”
Inside, a tiny mirror reflects your face… then shifts. My face smirks back, lips parting in a command you feel in your bones: “Beg.”
“Wh-what?” You recoil, but the mirror’s grip is hypnotic.
“You heard me,” I purr, kneeling to eye level. “Beg for what you truly crave.” Your pride wars with the heat pooling low in your stomach. I press the locket to your lips. “Now.”
You break. "please,....please, I need.... but I silence you with a finger. “Not yet.” My hand slips beneath your waistband, I take you in my grip, slow, and deliberate. Your hips jerk forward, instinct overriding pride, your knee begins to give in, “Steady yourself,” “Or I stop. And you’ll spend the rest of this masquerade aching, wondering what you missed.”
You whimper, your thighs trembling like a bowstring drawn too tight. My thumb swipes over the tip, a cruel tease, smearing the slick evidence of your desperation. The candlelight shows the sweat at your temples, the ragged rise of your chest. I tighten my hold, twisting just enough to make you gasp, and lean close, my lips grazing the shell of your ear. “Look at the saint,” I murmur, nodding to the painting above us, her ecstatic agony, fingers clawing at salvation. “That’s what I’ll give you. A prayer. A punishment.”
My strokes deepen, a torturing rhythm synced to the movement of the candle’s flicker. Slow, then savage, then slow again, denial coiled in every movement. Your hands fist at your sides, knuckles white, but you dare not touch me.
Good.
The cellar reeks of wine and wax, but all you smell now is salt and the musk of your own unraveling. “Please” you choke out, a fractured syllable.
I pause, “Please… what?” “Use your tongue, little saint. Beg me for mercy”
You swallow, “Please… let me....”
I cut you off with a twist of my wrist, a merciless corkscrew motion that squeezes a ragged moan from your throat. “Too late.” My voice sharp. “You don’t ask for release. I grant it.”
My hand becomes a clamp, relentless, punishing with each stroke. You arch off the wall, a silent scream etched into your face, as I drag you to the edge of climax. You bite your lip to stifle the groan, but it escapes, a beautiful sound as you spill over my hand, streaks of pearl pouring out.
I don’t let you soften. My grip tightens, milking every last tremor, every spasm, until you’re limp against the barrels, chest heaving. Withdrawing my hand, I hold your gaze as I make you lick my hand clean, with a slow, deliberate drag on your tongue. “You’d do anything for another taste of this… wouldn’t you?”
You don’t answer. You don’t need to. The tremor in your hands, the glaze in your stare says it all.
I stand, “You’ll return tomorrow,” I say,
“You’ll bring me another secret. Another piece of yourself.”
Before you can speak, I melt into the dark, leaving only the locket in your shaking hand and the echo of my laugh in your skull.
