However, Lelouch unlike other Britannians, hates and resists Britannia. His childhood friend who got shot, Suzaku, was Japanese but became an honorary Britannain, basically a Japanese who fights on Britannia's side. And Ron asked how much Britannia had conquered, they showed a map of the world where it showed Britannia pretty much ruled the West, so Europe, America and now is expaning to the east by capturing Japan. China and other Asian countries are not under Britannia.

Just watch it or don't watch it, it isn't worth your time or energy trying to convince them to do something they aren't even remotely considering in reality. You have a shot for stuff like Cyberpunk since it isn't Japanese IP to begin with, so you can expect that stuff like Castlevania will be in English if they ever watch that, but you will NEVER see traditional anime dubbed in English on this channel so you've just gotta accept it and stop getting engagement baited.

Wouldn’t even remotely consider it “unbearable”, lacking in “emotion” or “low quality”. And considering people will make these same exact general “criticisms” you made about literally ANY dub, even the famously great ones, they don’t hold much weight in my eyes. Maybe it’s a you/personal problem. Regardless these dub vs sub comments/discussions are always weird/annoying. Dub enjoyers coping and begging, sub-elitists disrespecting and downplaying English VA talent. I just wanna enjoy and see people talk about the show 😭.

You can do a compare by compare of the first few episodes and tell the difference EASILY. I tried to watch Letts React, react to this and it was just unbearable with the eng dub, had to drop their react after ep6. And that was right after i loved watching their death note react that they did in dub ofc.

The show itself gets compared to Death Note as well as both aired at the same time around 2006 with a MC who is insanely smart and questionable actions in terms of moral compass I suppose. Also, Lelouch is considered to be on of the best written main characters, and is the most popular MC on MyAnimeList out of every anime. And just fyi, Lelouch is pronounced Li-loosh", even tho many first tend to pronounce the -louch as in "ouch" when you get hurt

Lelouch VA also voices Black Clover's Finral and Tensura Slime's Demon Lord Leon. You will hear the same VA in Food Wars in the coming season soon too. Suzaku(Lelouch childhood friend) VA also voices Demon Slayer's Giyu, Naruto's Sasori, Mob Psycho's Arataka and Tensura Slime's Diablo.

With so many aspects, there's many things to keep track on and many areas for watchers to be critical of. People are very judgemental, especially so with an anonymous account to hide behind. Hopefully this community isn't too harsh. They are reacting to so many shows at the same time. Sometimes I wish they reduce the shows and upload more for each show instead.

If FMAB didn't get the dub you know it wasn't gonna happen here. The only show that really has a chance of dub is dbz. Also cyperpunk was dub since its an American concept plus an overwhelming amount of people recommended them to do dub and there was no poll, they just went with dub so that was a rarity. Only thing I can say if these comments cause some persuasion, then maybe they can watch the next episode of Code geass dub, see which one they like better and continue with what they pick. A poll is pointless, sub will always win which was why I mentioned there was no poll with cyberpunk.

Currently my favorite anime of all time is steins;gate which I’m hoping we’ll get soon. but listening to that opening again is so so nostalgic. Many could probably relate to me that opening is on the Mount Rushmore of anime ops. The nostalgia could make me tear up 😭😭.

Besides a lot of the story has to do with Japan too so sub fits very well. The sub also does a good job at distinguishing who's royalty and I also really like how elegant lelouch sounds in sub too

Fun fact this opening is done by FLOW which also did OG Naruto op 4 'Fighting Dreamers' and they did Shippuden op 6 'Sign'. Yeah Ron you pronounced Code Geass right, and this anime came out in 2006. Also I don't know any of the VA's since I watched this in dub lol which is great btw. A lot of noticeable dub VA's. All I think about is other characters when I hear Lelouche, Suzaku etc lol. Excited for this journey with you guys

Personally I prefer sub for the original language but I heard of instances where sub might be harder to focus and follow due to lengthy dialogues. Therefore, I recommend watching episode 1 in both sub and dub just to get a feel of which one you prefer.

2024-12-01 17:32:36 +0000 UTCAs many have said, this is one of the few anime that is better in dub (for english speaking audiences) because of the Eurocentric characters and names. It really plays into the royalty parts and the English VA's did a great job emulating the same type of flair and drama of the Japanese VA's. Also want to add: there is also a lot of complicated battle information that is quickly thrown at you that can be almost overwhelming sometimes in sub. Having seen it both ways and originally in sub first, hope you give the dub a try.

Shirley the girl who called Lelouch got the same voice as Satsuki from Kuroko as well and Riza Hawkeye from FMAB, that's the only ones I instantly recognized from the anime you have seen.
