word of warning if you want to make food they make in the show it's kind of obvious but the level of difficulty for technique, rarity of ingredients, and specialty cooking items used goes up as the show goes on so at some points unless you buy special tools you might not be able to make some dishes. definitely let us know or share pics in the reactions if you do make some though and they turn out well!

While I do agree that the "they're drawings so it doesn't really matter" take is a bit weird as the whole point is to feed into that fetish, Food Wars isn't even close to how bad Mushoku Tensei can get with its "scenes" but I do agree that Mushoku Tensei is better overall

First Season is really good, 2nd Season is super Hype. Sometimes you can watch only 1 or 2 Seasons of a Show and then decide to drop it. Everything until Mid Season 3 is good and enjoyable

tbh only the 4 season is a repetition for me, 1,2 a nd 3 are actually really good, if u can surpass the initial cringe for the excessive foodgasm in early episodes

Im going to be honest. Im surprised this won over love is war, they both get repetitive but this falls off pretty hard imo. I feel like most people who recommended it didn't finish it either and are hoping watching with a reactor will change their minds on it. Hopefully you all continue enjoy but the fanservice qnd repetition will only get worse just a heads up.

To address the intro: Michelle is half right that Japan raised it's age of consent from 13, but it was to 16, not 18. The majority of the US is 16, most of Europe, and there's even great countries like Germany or France which are 14/15. That all being said, I think it's best you mostly just "ignore" the ages. No one sane is gonna tell you you're a *bad word* for finding Erina's character model attractive. Y'all simped for Momo (MHA) when you first ever saw her and suddenly stopped, I assume due to a vocal minority of people having issue with it. The reason they didn't just make the characters 18+ is simple: Relatability. Not everyone goes to/went to college. Heck in the UK we finish school at 16. Whereas at 15 "everyone" is in school, NEETs, dropouts and so on aside, the vast majority are in school. Next, most anime in general are made for teens and young adults. Making the girls 20 wouldn't be as appealing to most 13-18 year old boys/young men. It wasn't until I was 20 that I was even open minded to dating older girls, and I'd still say I generally prefer younger women. Lastly, they're fictional characters. Hinata is 15 at the start of Haikyuu, yet I've heard so many women between 15 and 30 say they'd be into him. Do I ever call them bad words? NO. They're drawings. Just do as you did this episode and enjoy what you see, don't focus on the ages if it helps y'all. I'd rather see Ron be like "damn" if he likes how Erina is drawn, than not. She's drawn the same at older ages as she is here at 15. Most anime are like that too, they'll change the hair or style more to show ageing. The controversy fan service is a lot only in the beginning of this season, it's still there in the other seasons but way more watered down. So just thug it out for now temporarily lol with that said the focus on cooking and its science increases later.

Second you taking to extreme to compare it to hentai (fanservice is not porn) and in western region it not like these fetishes don't exist (que the drum). it just isn't portray in tv show or in a lot media no more cause everyone overly sensitive. OH MAN. making a prediction after seeing the transforming rice. I bet he made like a sort of demi glace out of the chicken stock, or added gelatin to it to make a faux-demi, which is what melts and coats the egg, so you get the aroma of fresh savory broth being poured over the rice. I'm so hyped. I love that his style is like no presumptions - He'll take anything as inspiration and elevate it, it doesn't need to be bougey, it just has to be well executed and creative. Really neat vibes EDIT - HELL YEAH I GOT IT RIGHT IT'S A FAUX-DEMI. Basically a demi glace is a super concentrated broth made from aromatics and animal bones cooked down for hours and hours. If you don't have the time for that, you can add seasoning + umami like worcestershire or soy as well as concentrated aromatics like ginger or onion/garlic powder + gelatin. You get the same effect, which is a gelatinized flavor bomb without the time investment. 300 iq. never thought to use it like this tho, really neat!

My thoughts are that being attracted to people is wrong for potentially two reasons right? 1. Being attracted to someone physically and mentally underdeveloped. This is messed up and basically predatory. This is a red flag 2. Being attracted to a physically fully developed person but in a scenario where consent isn't possible to be given. So an adult and a child, a teacher and a student, etc. This creates a dynamic where a real person loses the ability to consent. The characters aren't real so it's not possible to deprive them of the ability to consent to us as viewers watching them. The fan service in this show doesn't satisfy either sus condition IMO because: 1. The characters are depicted as fully developed 2. The characters are depicted as fully independent. Most living on their own, acting with complete agency. 3. The character design is such that pretty much any viewer can empathize with the characters - age is not a factor in their sexualization. If you change the physical number, nothing about the story would necessarily have to change That's the long and short of why I think it's not a big deal - at the end of the day it's depicting adults in a cultural context. Also this is one of the most hilarious shows I've ever seen. I don't see it as like material people are "using" if that makes sense. It's just like hilariously over-the-top depictions of satisfaction

imma be honest, the whole age thing is consistent w a lot of other anime and a good amount of japanese media. Age of consent there still being relatively low. I grew up watching anime so as I was younger it wasn't really a problem for me back then. However now I have just learned to disassociate anime and any fan service scenes cus similar to what you guys were saying, what is told story wise and what is visibly depicted are two different things. Same reason i wont like a 1000+ yr old loli just cus theyre of age, esp when they're depicted as a literal child
