Legend of Korra is actually a good show. I didn’t like it at first but after giving it a second chance I really like it a lot. There’s definitely a more mature element to it. You should definitely watch at some point. I promise to watch every reaction of it lol.

Nostalgia is a huge factor. I like avatar more, and that's majorly due to the attachment I have to the og characters. But I don't think it's miles better than korra. I wouldn't expect them to be the same either. They're two different shows. Some people let that stop them from being open to anything new cause they're too busy trying to compare. And with food wars, I really hate fan service, and I don't want to hear people moaning over food. If food wars didn't have that, I'd probably be much more open to it.

It really probably is a good compromise. I was just giving context for the people that for the life of them couldn't understand how Food Wars was winning. As someone that is also surprised, but has the ability to try and step into other peoples shoes I gave a little context on how it's probably winning. Some people just have a different taste then others. Humans are complex and different in many ways. But this isn't a philosophy class so I digress lol

Food wars is definitely not my jam. Some of you though have to understand not everyone is a young or middle aged man that grew up with Shonen. I fall into that category of Shonen lover. If it was just Ron watching this, I don't see him sitting there watching Food Wars by himself, but the dynamic as a couple might make them enjoy it a lot more. There are other shows on this Patreon and all the shows they have in these polls are on the list to make an appearance at some point so don't get too bent out of shape. I personally didn’t love legend of korra but I still think it was worth watching and gave a new perspective to the avatar world. Also if you want to know background the avatar and how it all started you’ll definitely get some of that by watching legend of korra. I think it’s always fair to give something a try to determine whether it was good or not. If you’re comparing it to ATLA then it’s for sure way below. But as a stand alone, it could be worse. Overall the character growth throughout the story was great

I think my biggest upset with Korra is that the old cast is gone, and it takes a minute to warm up to the new characters, Korra being the total opposite of Aang. But all of the easter eggs, the developments to the world as time passed, it's super cool to see. Season 1 is short, was left up in the air if they'd get renewed for the following seasons, but season 2 has one of the coolest back stories and art styles i;ve seen in television. I just got to season 3 and was surprised by the start, I actually stopped watching so I could continue watching it with you 2 when you got there :( So hopefully that can still happen.

Korra isn’t as good as ATLA, but it is still a very good show. A lot of people believe ATLA is damn near a perfect series so anything less is trash. But korra tackles more mature topics so it’s a different type of show.

Food Wars is good for it, coz it's fun, cringy, sometimes awkward (but from the good side), still have a good story.

And yes, it is a spinoff, that is some wild mental gymnastics to try and tell me it isn't. 😂Avatar is about Aang, it doesn't mean he was the only avatar, or even the only one that will ever exist, but the story was about him. Legend of Korra tried to piggy back off the success of Aang's story and it did do well, but it ultimately got cancelled early. I haven't watched it so can only take your word for it if it's good or not, but I'd stop watching dbz if Goku was no longer the mc, I stopped watching Fate when Sabre was no longer the servant.

I'd agree with you for sure, making a spinoff without the main character from the original is definitely hurting it. It was the main reason I didn't give them a try. Or most of the sword art online, or when I found out fate series changes. I guess personally I enjoy the characters more so than the anime itself I guess? I never gave it a shot because I enjoyed aang, and when I saw he was hardly present in the spinoffs it basically turned me off from watching them. Same with sword art online, any of the spinoffs without kirito or him being a very small role just made me lose interest in them. Same with the fate series, I'm sure they are great, but after I watched the first one with, I really enjoyed saber and emiya, and when I found out there are new mains it kinda felt like I got attached to them for no reason so didn't continue watching

Ill be honest I voted food wars... but as I am reading the post I want to make something clear. TLOK is in fact a very good show, even if you were to look at it from objective standpoint. It has its issues yes, as do most shows... but I think it's real issue for the public lies in the fact that is a sequel to one of the greatest animated tv shows ever. That is 100% a fact, it was always going to be tough to replicate what ATLA did, I mean just look at the live action... You had so many mouths to please and plot threads to explore, there was just no way it could live up to ATLA. That's why if you take it as its own story without the wild comparisons to a GOAT of the medium, you come to find that it is in fact a pretty well done, well animated, and enjoyable show. That's my piece, disagree if you want, but I think it is pretty factual.

It’s not about the fact that it’s just because she’s a woman that make it sexism is the fact that korra is not given grace like Aang was. That’s why it’s sexism. Her story was complex and she’s very human and if she didn’t make mistakes they would call her a Mary sue. The expectation that’s she’s supposed to just know what to do is a common experience for women and people reaction to korra and her mistakes is proof of this. Also this isn’t a spin-off the story was always about the avatar hence while Aang was the main character. He he emphasis was on him being the avatar. the conditions of the world was based on Roku’s choices just like the conditions of Korra’s world is based on Aang’s choices. Hence why it’s called AVATAR: the last air bender.

Korra is a good show although it isn’t as good as ATLA it is a very enjoyable watch, it does get a lot of hate but y’all can judge it for yourself. Also there are some very good villains in Korra and that’s what I like so much about it. I would still love for yall to react to it one day even if food wars does win but again food wars falls off in the later seasons as for Korra it gets better in the later seasons.

Personally I didn't give any of the spinoffs a try because I enjoyed the complimentary old crew and Aang was my favorite. It would be like having dbz end and then a new dragonball starts up and if a new female saiyan is the lead, whether it is better or not, you will obviously have people hanging on to the old one. I kinda hate how the community is trying to downplay Korra. Yes it's not ATLA, but they didn't want it to be ATLA in the first place. It's Korra. Personally I wasn't a fan before I watched it, afterwards I was glad I did tho. I don't think anything can top ATLA but that doesn't mean that anything that can't top it is bad, no? So just watch it and keep in mind that the creators got screwed big time by Nickelodeon, inherently making some of the show "bad", although not by choice. I'm sure other people would love to go into detail about these things (hopefully without spoilers).

Many reactors are hesitant to watch LOK because of negative feedback. In my experience, they all end up saying the same thing by the end of the show: they are unsure why there's so much negative feedback, and they loved LOK. Honestly, LOK haters are just mad it's not a continuation of ATLA with the *exact* same writing, characters, storyline, and development style. LOK is a really good show, and I think you will love it.

Korra is overly hated guys, and I don't really understand why. And the thing is, I think you'd probably like it. It's at the very least an 8/10 in my opinion. I was way more invested in the storyline, the fights are cool, you get to see old characters, and there's some fire new characters and antagonists. I swear I think people just hate Korra herself, for whatever reason. But I feel like if yall were willing to automatically give atla live action a chance, Korra is damn sure worth giving a shot. Most people aren't gonna think a spin-off is as good or better than the original. This is common, especially when nostalgia is a big factor. It is what it is, doesn't mean it should be written off as bad though. What's ironic is so many reactors who go into korra with low expectations because of korra haters, end up enjoying the show. And then they're like "wait I don't understand where the hate was coming from" "I actually really enjoyed this".

I really think Korra started off a bit weird, but the middle and end of Korra did so many things unbelievably well that it deserved to be the follow up for Avatar, and this is coming from someone who USED to hate Korra. I really think it also helps you understand later in the lives of some of the Avatar characters, and how they turned out and affected the world.

People hate on korra so hard it’s really good it’s just that Nickelodeon kept giving them only one season at first. The third and fourth season are soooo good. In my opinion I prefer korra the world building is grander. People always compare the two shows and dislike korra because of nostalgia and because she a woman if we’re being real. Aang got a lot more grace than she did. Her show was more complex.
