We need some help compiling a list of One Piece episodes that:
1) need to be watched together
2) are fillers but have canon parts that we need to watch (just so y'all are aware of what fillers we are avoiding, we are following this filler list: https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/one-piece)
Obviously don't go crazy and suggest triple episodes of everything lol. We will have our mods look at the top liked comments, so make sure to like if you agree with a suggestion.
Also, Since there are sooooo many episodes, let's just go until episode 300 for now and then I will do another post like this when we need help for episodes 301 and beyond.

The Foxy arc might become relevant someday (davy back in particular) but it’s unfortunate to be stuck right before an amazing saga. It does not really require a reaction (though they should watch it themselves).

Not only is it nostalgic for me since I grew up watching it on toonami, I got teary-eyed during the last episode of Naruto Shippuden back in 2017 when I was 22. It felt like a chapter of my life was ending. I say all that to say One Piece is better 😂

I have watched with many other reactors and can guide you well. My recommendations and comments have all been spot on so far. I have also watched the series 6 times and am rewatching it a 7th and 8th time between you guys and rewatching with my Wife, you can trust me.

2024-01-30 22:59:11 +0000 UTCYea it does, the big difference between bleachs fillers and one pieces is that bleach does gigantic full arcs of filler around 25-50 episodes, that have their own storyline. Like its a different timeline but in the same universe. While One piece typically(barring G8 for example) does smaller fillers, usually 1-5 episodes. Bleach get's dropped because it can confuse viewers to have the main storyline dropped at the snap of the fingers for something completely different, barring the first handful of fillers that were able to somewhat be fit into the shows tempo at the point in the main storyline, like the bounts, and the crazy magic dude that idr the name of in the first season. One piece's fillers being so short, don't impact the overall tempo of the show for the most part, and a lot of them have canon parts and information, which depending on how you want to watch the series, can make it a bigger pain that bleach, in regards to episode hopping.

This list is basically spot on as far as watch order goes. Just adhere to this and you should be good. It's a pain which is why I always say don't worry about filler too much, but if you guys want to skip it. This is the way to do it. And all the triple episodes listed above are the ones that should be bunched together going off memory alone.

I know 102 is filler too but imo it is much more relevant to the arc than the filler side story in 101 that made up 90% of its episode...that's just me tho🤷🏾♂️

Watch 62 and 63 with those two half episodes all in one drop. Then do 64-83 like you always do with 2 episodes a drop. Watch 84-86 (those three go together). Watch 87-98 as usual with 2 episodes a drop. Skip 99. Watch 100 and 101. Skip 102. Watch 103-130 with 2 episodes in one drop. Skip episodes 131-143. Watch episodes 144-145, 146-147, and then Do 148-150 in one drop [triple]. Watch 151-178 as always. 179-181 should be watched together. [triple] 182-195 as usual. Then comes a filler arc that usually everyone recommends watching 😉 So just watch 196-209 as usual. Do the episodes 210-212 together [triple]. There are two filler episodes in between but you can watch them as well together (213-214). Then do 215 and 216, After which you should watch 217-219 together for sure [triple]. Episodes 220-226 are fillers. Though 225 and 226 contain just a little canon but it’s really nothing. I myself always skip them when rewatching one piece since it doesn’t contain anything important. Episodes 227-274 can all be watched in double drops. Whereas 275-277 are a must watch together [triple]. After that, watch 278 and 279 until 5th minute. (from there a recap will start) And from 20:25 is a quite watchable special :). 280: 19:00 special after a recap episode. 281: special at 20:00 after a recap. 282: special starts at 20:40. 283 is the last recap episode and the last special starts at 20:28. The recaps are optional you can either watch it or skip it. But the specials are fun to watch so I suggest you watch them for a “break” :))) and 278 + all specials could make a drop (I calculated it would be the same as if you watched only 2 episodes). That is if you skip the recaps ;) 284-286 can be watched together, since 287-288 and 289-290 , [291-292 are fillers so just easily skip them] 293-294 and 295-296, 297-298, 299-300 should be watched together episodes. (Trust me, as I am writing this I am checking literally everything so it would be easy for you guys to plan everything.) Watch 301-302. Skip 303. Watch 304-309 as usual and 310-312 have to be a triple drop. And I really really mean it. 313-316 as usual. Skip episodes 317-318 because they are fillers. But I did enjoy them so it’s optional :) 319-324 as usual and then there will be one last episode of the arc: 325, after which filler arc starts, so skip 326-336. I think it’s enough of information for now, when you guys will be close to these episode feel free to ask again and I’ll do it in a breath:) Note: yes, I did check everything. Even all the double episodes that could go together and won’t be a weird split. Please take my advices on watching the triple episodes of those that I wrote, there aren’t that many in between your normal schedule. I hope my work here will be real helpful until you reach episode 337. Since I invested in it about 2 hours 😅

The episode grouping I'm gonna leave to the others (edit: Liana's comment is great for that!) GREEN ----> WATCH (even if it says "mixed", etc.) RED ----> SKIP EXCEPT FOR these four instances: - 55: watch the first 8 minutes (ignore the little girl) & move on to 61 - 61: skip first half & watch from 13:00 onwards - 102: one of the best filler eps imo (ignore what they find at the end of the ep tho) - 196-206: this a filler arc everybody considers a must-watch, def worth it! - 225: watch the first 3 minutes & move on to 226 - 226: watch from 19:30 onwards PS: some may tell you to skip 213-216, because they are "anime canon" (and pad out an arc that was already slow af in the manga), HOWEVER, I would be wary of doing that, since it has canon material sprinkled in that is too intertwined with the filler

When those episodes arrive, please give them a heads up of the timestamp to skip to. For example, episode 226.

Like people telling you to watch only the end of an episode, you may see a character and say "who's that" because you just skipped 3 episodes. Some exceptions to note from Christopher's and animefillerlist.com: - The end of episode 54 (entering the CB) is canon minus the filler character that appears. - 90%+ of episode 101 is filler. The only canon part is the end (getting VC from A).

But some fillers are straight up filler with no returning characters, plot or anything later in the show. So the first 300 ep like you said, I would skip ep 54-60, start ep 61 at 13min ( thats when the filler ends ) Would not skip ep 98-99 and 102 mainly cuz its only 3 ep and you learn abit more. Maybe skip ep 131-143. Dont skip 196-206 ( actually a good filler ) maybe skip ep 220-225. Skip 279-283 ( just old recap ) and skip 291-292. And now you are in your 300+ :D

2024-01-30 18:47:11 +0000 UTCNone of these are mandatory obviously, but I don't know your standards for "must be watched together" these are some EPs I recall: EP 55 is filler, but it has a small section that explains a canon concept from 2:40-5:23EP. EP 61 is mostly canon from 12:55 to end. EP 62-63 are nice to watch together, but it's not a huge deal. EP 68-69 makes sense to watch together, but not a huge deal. EP 85-86 I'd say are "important" to watch together EP 94-95 nice to watch together, again, not a huge deal. Just a few early episodes that came to mind.

There are a few exceptions, upcoming 61 where you skip most of the episode cus its just finishing up the filler arc and finish the canon part of the episode and for example for 68-69 it'll say mixed canon/filler but for those episodes but its worth watching the entire episodes cus important characters like how the with Usopp and Daddy Masterson and learning more about Yasopp etc. But imo you can't go wrong with the green episodes even when they say mixed canon/filler Maybe ask some of the other OP reactors if they follow a list. The good thing about OP is it barely has filler even being over 1093 episodes long yeah it has 95 filler eps coming in at 9% but that is miniscule compared to other big series like Naruto/Shippuden which both are 41% filler on their respective series. I love both of those but man they are riddled with it. If you were watch a filler arc G8 would be the best one just cus its short satisfying and has fun dynamics but that's not for a while.
