it is the right term for the rinnegan (in fact, it is a kekkei mora when the user is an otsuxxxxx, all dojutsu are kekkei mora degraded into kekkei genkai by being passed to non-otsuxxxxx, the same can be said for kimimaro bones, but i don't say more to not spoil) i think the confusion came because of the anime, the anime state that kekkei genkai is a bloodline specific jutsu made by the fusion of 2 nature of chakra (3 nature of chakra is kekkei tota) in the manga it's only stated that is a bloodline jutsu that came from abnormal DNA (and nothing is said about chakra nature), it can be passed down genetically or not (hashirama wood style is also kekkei genkai, it is a genetically trait but never passed down by normal means) Nara clan is not a kekkei genkai as stated before, but a hiden jutsu (the clan doesn't want to spread the jutsu outside of the clan, but it can be learned or copied by someone like kakashi) so all jutsu that are not copyable by kakashi are at least a kekkei genkai :D

I'd argue that a better way to define a Kekkei Genkai is any jutsu that are passed down genetically and cannot be learned otherwise. It's literally in the name - kekkei genkai translates to bloodline limit. Techniques that are limited to your bloodline. He is saying that it's misleading because there are several jutsu that are not "basic" but not Kekkei Genkai either. Examples are the Nara clan, Aburame clan, Akimichi clan, etc jutsu. They're unique and taught to members within the clan, but they're not passed down genetically. In theory you could learn them

Idk if they explain this later, so im curious on this rewatch, but I just assumed no one told Naruto about his father because ninja would target him / try to take him out solely because he's the son of the yellow flash that was such a big part in the war.
