2024-01-25 08:43:14 +0000 UTCThe CO2 discussion was hilarious. Michelle was right about most of it, except the farts part I think. CO2 is probably part of farts but I think it’s mostly methane. And CO2 is also in car exhaust but I think it’s mostly CO (carbon monoxide). Oxygen is stable in a pair, O2. Ozone in the upper atmosphere is O3. Carbon is the basis of all life on earth, so most organic processes create CO2. Fire is a reaction that oxidizes fuel and generates heat. Carbon oxidizes pretty easily, which is why candles for example are sometimes made of animal fat (carbon). Coal is another one that is a very high concentration of carbon. Many things can oxidize tho. Rust is basically a slow, cold fire that oxidizes metals. Metals on or from earth usually are surrounded by a thin layer of oxygen, but in space if two of the same metals are touching and lose the oxygen barrier they can ‘cold weld’ together, which has happened to a few parts on the outside of spacecrafts we’ve launched. Also I think the canisters that people get high off of use nitrogen.

I think it’s pretty intentional because Gon isn’t really shown to look quite as defined as Killua cuz he hasn’t been training nearly as long. The size of killua’s muscles are a bit bigger than you’d expect in reality tho but that’s probably just Killua being a beast like you said haha

Remember the analogy Wing used when he was teaching Gon and Killua about how trying overcome someone's hostile nen without any nen protection is like walking into a blizzard naked. If you force yourself too much you might die and he was just exposed to Pouf's en which is way weaker than Pitou's. Just imagine how much more damaging Pitou's en would have being on Knov.

When characters are drawn to describe their bodies and current situation there’d more emphasis on that, but drawing that way every time would look off. That’s because drawing styles serve different functions, so as you said it’s only natural to assume he’s ripped because of his training and what he does, but he can’t be represented that way every single time

When the king injured himself, she had to stop using en and heal him for 2-3 hours. In that time it’s Shiapoof’s en you see (the smaller blue aura). When you see palm get caught off guard by the red aura, it meant that she was done healing the king. This is also the only reason Knov could place the portals, because Shiapoof’s aura only can cover the top floor

And you can’t really compare Killua to a regular kid because this is fiction, if Killua can do what a normal kid can’t do then of course he can also look what a normal kid doesn’t usually look like.

His En only covers the second floor while Pitou has that wide range. So when Palm reached the stairs she had the bad luck of getting there the moment Pitou turned her En back again, she was immediately detected.

I once saw this shows, about extraordinary humans. One of them was a young boy who had some sort of physical condition, that let him produce muscles a lot easier than most people. If I remember correctly, he was basically as toned as Killua is in this episode, but maybe a little less thin. My point is, if it is anywhere near what is humanly possible in real life, then someone like Killua, who was raised specifically to be strong, would most likely have achieved it, even before learning about nen. Or maybe it was just fan service for Hisoka XD

They were 12 at the beginning of the show when they took the first Hunter Exam and he took it again the next year. I don’t know how long they were inside Greed Island and the Chimera Ant arc started right after so he’s 13 at the very least. And truthfully, it’s probably easier to be “ripped” as a slim teenager. Throw in the fact that he’s been training since he was a toddler, it’s not that out of the ordinary to me.

He said a couple episodes ago that he would use his En since Pitou couldn’t use hers at the moment, even though he wasn’t as good at it as Pitou is. Although they were showing flashes of Pitou when Knov was placing his portals, it was Pouf’s aura that had him shook not Pitou’s. And nen is powered by aura; it’s not a separate thing.

2024-01-24 03:57:22 +0000 UTCCar exhausts put out carbon monoxide which is way more dangerous than carbon dioxide. Carbon monoxide will prevent your body from receiving oxygen and suffocate you. CO2 can do the same thing but it takes a much higher concentration. And he was right about the CO2 cartridges. I too had BB guns that were powered by them. We do breathe out CO2 naturally but it’s not the only way that CO2 can be produced and it has many uses. They use it to carbonate soda, and use it in fire extinguishers to name a few.

2024-01-24 03:33:25 +0000 UTCI'm not an expert but I took a chemistry course semi recently and I did some googling to find a few of the answers you guys were looking for. Firstly an atom and a molecule are different in this way, an atom is basically the smallest building block for matter, they are made up of a core of protons (positively charged particles) and Neutrons (neutrally charged particles) and surrounded by Electrons (negatively charged particles). You can think of them sort of like a magnet and at a very basic level some atoms have different levels of charge. For this reason some atoms are more reactive with other atoms and some are less reactive. Molecules however are groups of more than 1 atom which are bonded together by sharing the electrons which orbit them. The charges I talked about play a role in which atoms will share electrons with other atoms which allows them to bond together. Basically a negatively charged atom is more likely to bond with a positively charged atom than a positive would be with another positive or vice versa. You had it right, CO2 is a molecule comprised of Carbon and 2 Oxygen atoms. similarly O2 is a molecule made up of 2 Oxygen atoms. CO2 is a waste product of many different processes including human respiration and the burning of things like wood, coal and other fossil fuels. As for the reason why O2 becomes CO2 when used in the body, it is used to break down glucose in a process that results in Adenosine Triphosphate or ATP which the body uses for energy and the waste product of CO2. Very similar to how a car uses Oxygen and combustion to get the "energy" or the movement from the explosion and the biproduct of CO2. Michelle mentioned cows farts but what she may have been thinking of was Methane or CH4 which is a molecule made up of 1 Carbon and 4 Hydrogen atoms. This is also a biproduct of using certain fossil fuels for energy and is a big contributor to climate change. I think the last question was about CO2 and compressed air canisters, as for why CO2 is used instead of a general mixture of air, that is because CO2 is more easily compressed and so therefore you can store a larger quantity in a smaller container (basically its just easier and more efficient). Also, just as a little fun fact, the air we breath is comprised of several different gasses, by volume (meaning just by physical size) it is made up of ~78% Nitrogen, ~21% Oxygen, a few other gasses make up less than a full % and less than .04% Carbon Dioxide or CO2. That's why CO2 emissions have such a big effect on the environment because normally it makes up such a small amount of the atmosphere that increasing its presence can upset the balance. Actually in manga, the scene when Bezeff had drink the water with hypnotic drug, there was a dildo on the bed but it wasn't there in the anime version. 🤣 Pouf's En, as he said, it wasn't be able to expand as wide as Pitou was, but still as evil and able to cover all over the floor. While Pitou's En can reach out for 2 km radius with amoeba-shaped like aura, which is almost impossible to avoid it when getting nearby while it can keep using it all the time without getting exhausted. Compared to human Nen Master can do 50 meter while can keeping it for a while, Zeno who was up on the hierachy said he can make it 300 meter at most (but that would be so exhausting). That's how powerful the Royal Guards is. PS.Gon and Killua, at this stage, they're about 14 years old. Btw, Michelle was wearing wool hat just like Ikalgo. 😂
