But the individual soldiers they always call them Marines. In short, in this universe, they are the same entity. In our world marines are actually associated heavily with the Navy and also work together with the Army as well. They specialize in amphibious combat as well as close quarters land combat. I hope this is helpful and educational ✌🏽

The villagers probably barely have enough left after paying 100,000berry per adult to Arlong. 100,000berry per person is a lot for a small village. I think you can compare berry to Japanese yen so 100,000berry would be around 1000USD. The village basically have agriculture and farms to sustain themselves and do not depend on money so forking out that much money would have been difficult. I hope Michelle gets well soon and Ron stay healthy. Even though One Piece have One Pain moments, it also has One Peace Happy Smiling moments!

It must’ve really hurt my parents, but I was a kid and stuff so :/ I never got meet my biological parents bc I was adopted as a baby, but I did hear they died a decade ago or so. I wonder if they would have been proud of me. I know, no one asked. Just felt like sharing I guess.

About One Piece, I feel so nostalgic watching these first episodes, I'm 22 now, and I started watching One Piece when I was 13, that's so crazy, I feel like animes in general and specially One Piece made me who I am now, with all my morals and standards, this show is so beautiful. I remember I got completely hooked right in this arc, from here on the show gets wild!

It hurts to know that they only noticed the house because of the smoke, and the smoke only happened because she was making dinner, and she was only making dinner to apologise and look after her daughters. And because of that it makes Nami's argument about not being a real family hurt so much more 😢 as you know, what comes next, only makes this whole sequence feel so much worse. It really is One Pain, gosh, but this is honestly like one of the tamer, painful moments in this show. I'm actually not sure whether I'll be able to bring myself to watch your reactions to some of the later arcs.

In the US military the marines were initially part of the Navy, but like Ron described they later branched out to be their own branch. Marines pretty much got the name from being soldiers in the water. And yes, a heads up there are much more heart breaking backstories than the ones you know of.
