This is one of the best directed anime that i watched since i start watching anime since early 2000s. This is not as mainstream as the other shonen anime but i think is better than some them. Baccano, 91 days, Sonny Boy Monogatari series and 86 should be appreciated more

This kind of supports the idea that the government is lying to their citizens about district 86's existence. Pushing the idea that non-military personel (civilians) don't even know about district 86 and it being used for war. Hence the lying of casualties.

Its really good. The first OP is also rather spoilerfree, but a banger is the second OP, which might spoil a little bit, but it was so beautiful to watch that I was even more hyped to watch the episode after it xD ... And there are almost always post credit scenes!!

It's also very dense at times, so don't worry at all about having to rewind/pause to analyze or digest certain scenes or dialogue. Here's hoping you'll love it as much as I do. A-1 Pictures did 86, they've done a lot of anime like Magi, Blue Exorcist, Sword Art Online, Kaguya sama Love is War, Lycoris Recoil and a bunch more. The soundtrack is by Sawano, who did AoT so it definitely has the pedigree.

The government claims that unmanned drones fight and there are no casualties. But in the military, they speak of the 86th district and call them pigs. They have handlers in the military who command the processors of the drones from 86th district to fight the enemy in this war. Their death means nothing as their existence are not recognized and easily disposed off by the military since the public does not know about them.

2023-12-08 04:40:26 +0000 UTCone good thing to note is when the handler looks at the screen that set it up like that on purpose so it looks like a video game and the handlers don't get any connection to the 86 thats why there are no cameras or anything out in the battlefield to see just keep that in mind if ur wondering why there's only dots on a screen its to make them as non human as possible
