Honestly if you read the manga you could say he was more like a father figure than Ging was. So I like that you were able to at least see how much he meant to Gon here.

Morel, Knov and chairman Netero were well informed so they can plan ahead before they attack. I actually forgot what happened after this but I think those three can manage even when they are just as strong as Kite.

2023-12-06 09:53:07 +0000 UTCOne of the things I really like about this episode, is how well the different emotions are portrayed. The fear in all of their eyes, when Pitou rips off Kites arm. The rage that Gon shows right before being knocked out. The dispair and helplessness that Killua feels while being lectured by the 2 that were with Netero. And the relief and hope brought back to Killuas face, when Gon wakes up and thanks him, and tells him how they have to get stronger. All of these emotions were so well portrayed, and you could really feel them. Truly one of the best episodes in the show imo

Of course anime needs to be entertaining too but what’s more important about anime is the lessons and the messages woven within the story. Most anime have comedy and fan service but they can be very serious and relatable when need be. And this is not a joke, anime LITERALLY saved my life back when i was a kid. Back then i was very reserved and very clumsy, so I was pretty much a loner and always got yelled at by my parents. At that time, Naurto and Fruits basket were literally everything I had to keep on believing in myself. That I’m not just a failure, that if I try hard enough, even i could do it too.

What makes an anime compelling a lot of the time is when we can draw metaphorical parallels between the events on screen and the events of our lives. Finishing a school semester and fighting in Heavens Arena are obviously very different when looked at literally but we can draw metaphorical parallels between the way Gon and the viewer would overcome those trials which helps us to invest ourselves in the struggles we see take place on screen.

If so, I’d recommend filling it with a short, feel-good series to give Michelle an emotional break lol. Something like season 1 of “The Devil is a Part Timer” (13 episodes), “My Love Story” (24 episodes), “My Little Monster” (13 episodes), or “Hyouka” (22 episodes). They are just lighthearted, slice of life, romantic comedies, so nothing dark or deep; but you guys might need a break from the dark and deep for a few weeks. Or! One that I’ve been pushing for that would absolutely serve that purpose, as well, but is a little longer….Food Wars!!

That's not a battle they would've won, no matter how you slice it. Kite, a pro hunter, got bodied one on one with Pitou. So, imagine if instead of running, a one armed/weak weaponed kite, an enraged/irrational Gon, and a wary/hesitant Killua all decided to stay and fight Pitou. An ant with aura worse than Illumi, Hisoka, and kite. I'm sorry but, Morel and Knov coming in talking big shit when they weren't even there is crazy to me. Like the overall message of what Morel was saying had truth to it, but when you apply it to this specific circumstance, it's not logical for relatively inexperienced hunters like Gon and Killua.

Leading up to the Kite vs Neferpitou(Pitou) fight, you saw how Killua was thinking about how Kite was the first hunter they "met" while the others were more like teachers. And just showing Kite's ability to track was putting him at the mastered Nen level. It didn't look like Pitou took much damage if any at all from that 1 scene so it puts into perspective just how strong she is. Also with Killua mentioning he doesn't even think Netero stacks up to her. Bad timing to be hitting this episode while also watching the current JJK though lol.
