Something I noticed while rewatching with you guys is when the titan eats Erin's mom, first it "humanely" kills her. All the other ones would have just shoved her in kicking and screaming. This is probably due to the influence Erin had at the time. Just another detail.

The Wall cult religion is a psychological operation by the government to discourage tampering with the walls, so that the people will not discover the truth that Titans are within. The government - possessing the FT - knows the truth. That King Fritz took the remnants of the Eldian Empire to this island and entrapped them within the Wall. They are carrying out the will of the King - to keep humanity ignorant of their history so that they will not be tempted towards engaging in more conflict. The wall religion is a desperate attempt to keep that truth a secret and to keep humanity from escaping these walls. That is their idea of atonement for the sins of the Eldian Empire.

I remember reading a theory about Eren waking up disoriented by the tree... Eren made the decision to execute the Rumbling on humanity. But, no one can consciously bear the burden of witnessing that evil act. We have seen a few times in the series where a Titan shifter has transferred their consciousness to different parts of their body. That is an idea that never gets explored much near the end of the series. Since Eren has accessed the Founding Titan and arrived at the Coordinate - the point at which all Eldians are connected through time - he might be able to transfer his consciousness through time. He might have brought forth his child consciousness sitting at that tree from Ep 1 into the future to experience a dream (using the FT memory powers) to feel like a bird flying freely through the clouds (A scene we saw in movie special 1). He did this in order to override his present consciousness so that he did not have to witness the Rumbling. And he wakes up in Ep 1 crying because he subconsciously reacts to the feeling of the horror being committed, or to the fact that he just came from seeing Mikasa for the last time. This might be why Eren is destined to chase this feeling of freedom throughout his life - because he is drawn towards that feeling he felt in that "dream" of being free. It forms some kind of self-fulfilling cycle of fate. Thought it was an interesting idea

I like anime they did a very great job like I cann't imagine how the ODM gear work LOL and when they transform into Titan. plus the VA, sound, OST. made anime wayy better and build up the emotional of the show very well. BUT- you guys should check out manga in Chapter 1 there is a scene before Eren wake up and also conversation with Mikasa was a bit cut out, if it's in the anime it will be more deeper when we come back and rewatch.

Also I watched different youtube videos of all the easter eggs that I myself would have never seen so I recommend watching those. The Manga or Anime question: Did you mean AOT manga or Anime? Cause then I liked the anime better because AOT manga art style wasn't my cup of tea. But if you meant like in general then I prefer manga because it is the original source (usually) so it has more info than anime does and it's easier because you can take your time reading and understanding all the info rather than reading subs and watching at the same time.

Damn I'd be so down for a full series rewatch or at least highlighted episodes. AOT is so special to me and seeing it now that we know everything makes it mean that much more. I like to think about when Eren wakes up and starts crying this way: I'm sure we've all had very vivid and detailed dreams that seemed so realistic. Then, you wake up and you don't remember a single thing that happened. I've had times I've woken up with dried tears and I remembered it was a super sad dream but I couldn't remember the slightest detail of what happened. That's basically what Eren is feeling like and why he is crying when he wakes up. He has no idea what happened in his "dream" he had but his body was still reacting to the emotional memories and times his future self visited him. PS: It's so wild seeing Grisha's reaction to Eren's reasoning for wanting to join the Survery Corps. He was like 'yep I figured he'd say something like that" while slightly knowing what future Eren is like so he knew that whatever was going to happened couldn't be stopped. AND you know that Grisha's leaving to go and get the Founder Titan

OH! You should definitely check out the dub instead. I can't take all the whining of season one in English lol, but it's actually a quality dub. Unpopular opinion I guess, but I never liked the dubbed version. I really gave it a chance and tried watching the majority of season 1 dubbed (I watched AOT so many times lol) but Eren’s voice sounded to me like what someone would pretend to say as a joke to sound like an anime character. Especially when he was mad he really gave me goosebumps but not for the right reasons. Again, my personal opinion, different strokes for different folks. I know some people liked the dub version, but for me Eren’s VA was not it.

One thing I want to point out that you may have missed is they way the Dina Titan kills Eren's mom. It kills her (by I think breaking her back?) before eating her which is different than what a pure titan would do unless being ordered.

They changed it in the anime but in the manga eren in his dream actually sees mikasa saying see you later eren and when he wakes up he asks mikasa “when did your hair grow so long” because in his dream he saw his last moment before death when mikasa’s hair was short, I dunno why they changed this in the anime

One thing I just noticed when Grisha tells Eren he will show him what's in the basement. It doesn't show Grisha's face, but when Zeke and Eren are going through all the memories, that is when we see Grisha's face with a shocked look on it as he says it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure future Eren and Zeke are in kid Eren's house (via the paths) when they are talking about him joining the scouts and the cellar. Future Eren is sending Grisha his memories so when he pulls out the key to the cellar at the doorway he knows Eren is standing in front of him almost as if speaking to him directly. This is why they only show the key and not Grisha's face. Kid Eren has no idea at this time his future self is manipulating everything

He also asks Mikasa why her hair was so long lol for whatever reason WIT changed that entirely, but damn it would've been full circle had they never done that. And just a tip so y'all don't try to over-analyze Eren, he doesn't see the future until after he kissed Historias hand. But yes I hope y'all continue with the reactions!
