If Ron had the Death Note he is in jail day 1 lol If Light stops using the Death Note the second he's being investigated, that makes him very suspicious, and they aren't investigating random heart attacks because Light is only killing criminals, which makes those deaths less random

I have a prequel book to Death Note that takes place about 4 years before the Kira investigation that mostly revolves around L that i def recommend ya'll read after watching this series. The prequel is mentioned in the show probably once or twice so you have to really pay attention to when they talk about L's previous cases.

Eitherway you always get a dub guy coming in here preaching no matter the old anime, for Naruto the vocal minority really kept complaining about wanting dub.

Most people just think of this as a battle of brains but there's much more to the character's view of the world and the subsequent actions they take

If Light randomly kills people it will be harder to catch him but it doesn't go along with Light's personality and his principles

2023-08-28 11:21:26 +0000 UTCAlso good thing to keep in mind is that L is at a huge disadvantage because 1) Light uses a tool that is unknown to humanity and is basically a perfect anonymous assassination tool, and 2) L has the burden of proof, even if he is 100% sure Light is Kira, he would have to prove HOW Light kills and solid evidence about Light is Kira. Adding to that, the reason Light won¨t stop killing is his ego basically. The same reason he refuses the eyes. He wants to be acknowledged as a God and is kinda addicted to that, siilar to how in Breaking Bad Walt had numerous chances to stop cooking and completely get away with the money to support his family but instead got addicted to the thrill and kept going, throwing away his original reason for doing it

You're right; if Light just stops killing, the trail goes cold since the death note is such a discrete murder tool. But Light *wants* people to know he's out there actively dispensing justice. That's the reason he even does it almost exclusively through heartattacks, when he could easily use any number of ways to kill people without suspicion. He's developed a serial killer's profile, which is what makes this whole investigation even possible. A regular, sensible person might do what Ron suggested, but then again, a reasonable, sensible person probably wouldn't have come this far in the first place.
