2023-07-15 08:25:31 +0000 UTCGon isn't so much a character who cares about pride but he absolutely cares about reaching a conclusion that satisfies him. You heard Leorio mention how "selfish" he is. That manifests throughout this arc as Gon helping others (mainly Kurapika and Leorio) but also in using people as a means to fulfill his desire to learn and grow (as we see when he's learning to hunt from the Bow and arrow guy). This is really great character building. Where as we see characters like Deku and Tanjiro who do good out of a selflessness and a genuine caring for others, Gon often does things with similar outcomes but it is important to realize just how different his motivation is. It's also important to realize it isn't a malicious selfishness, as I'm sure you guys have realized, but a childlike, naïve selfishness.

I know that being raised by psychopaths is one of the reasons why he can’t understand the strength of Gon’s resolve and stubborn disposition. Though Killua is my fave character it was nice seeing him humbled at the realization that his assassin training and upbringing didn’t mean that he had great potential to be a hunter.

2023-07-15 01:15:11 +0000 UTChaha that's interesting, I also thought about it when they mentioned other hunters like Gourmet Hunter and Bounty Hunter, so Hunter x Hunter must be a Hunter that hunting another Hunter 😂 anyway, the author got the idea from comedian that repeating words twice, so he just put Hunter twice too. idk if there's a deeper meaning in it but I hope we're right 😂

If he's set on something, he will be set on getting it or achieving it, he does not care. You will notice this reoccurring theme about him more and more, and for better or worse. But yeah this show has some of the best character development. Excited for tomorrow
