She saved Naruto's life by pushing him when he froze up vs Zabuza in the manga (Studio Perriot just left that out completely in the anime). She also saved both the life of Naruto and Sasuke in the Forest of Death by defeating the Sound ninja just enough for Rock Lee to show up and stop them. Sasuke when he woke up first thing he did was protect her. He also only doesn't catch his first murder because Sakura triggered an emotional response to suppress his curse mark. She tried against demon form Gaara who was the strongest genin for 95% of Part 1, no shame in getting captured. Sasuke also risks his life and tells Naruto to do the same to get her back from Gaara (yet another time we see he actually cares for her). That annoying side-girl archetype is Studio Perriot's doing. Kishimoto did not have Sakura punching Naruto off of bridges and giving him a black eye every time they talked when he wrote the manga lol, and Sasuke gives her props throughout Part 1 and Naruto gives her big props in early Shippuden. Kishimoto's real big mistake was *that* confession scene in Shippuden, idk what he thought he was cooking with that one. Honestly that one scene is probably responsible for a large chunk of Sakura hate. And the other chunk is from Studio Perriot making her as unlikable as possible while also changing scenes where Sasuke cares about her to seem like he is brushing her off.

She's written to just be annoying side-girl on purpose and I hate it. She has insane potential and they waste it so often it makes her look like she has no potential to some viewers. I obviously think she gets better without Sasuke over time... (**SPOILER KIND OF: But they still ruined her growth at the end of the show because women, am I right? I actually do remember a little bit about his past.. the last time I watched this was in highschool (2007 - 2008) lol so i'm sorry, my memory from 15-16 years ago is not that good. but i remember reaching an episode where I had to wait for more episodes but they were fillers so then i went and tried reading some of the manga and i remember reaching a chapter about his past? like his eye. but I dont remember things before that part or after. I'm sure as we watch, i will start to remember the scenes and story as they happen but I literally cannot remember the next scenes of the story or specific details.

AHHHH HERE IT GOES!!! I do want to say when I first watched this I was fully on board with you guys and still am with the whole Sasuke not having feelings for Sakura. That scene NEVER made sense. I will say however, that the most I could maybe make sense of it was the little nuggets thrown in that Sasuke may like her but if all else he definitely cares for her. For instance, when the battle happened between Gaara, he emphasized that Naruto save Sakura and was upset he didn't save her (although the not saving her ordeal is more likely due to Naruto being stronger than him). Also, this last scene with them two, when he turned around and called her annoying, after he said he didn't remember it, could've been his way of saying he remembers and it's a cute flirty way of doing it. Lastly, when he thanks her meaning he appreciates her and what she is to him and knocks her out instead of doing anything worse. He didn't want to hurt her and even put her on the bench. I think those little nuggets were supposed to be looked into more in order for us to be like woah maybe he does have feelings. But like COME ON!! The whole time when I first saw it, I was like Girl he don't give a DAMN about you. He only cares about Naruto lol. The Animators did a terrible job if they wanted us to ever think that that Sasuke has romantic feelings towards Sakura.

He was triggered when she made that comment about him not having parents and being alone. He responded by calling her Annoying so that’s why Sasuke didn’t know wtf she was talking about.

Yeah, given how cold Sasuke is specially in the anime you can tell that he does care about Sakura in little things He calls her annoying but tbh lol he thinks everyone is annoying even tho deep down he does care about them a lot. Sakura was able to help him suppress the curse mark in the chunin exams when she hugged him, also little details like the way he protects her in some instances. She comes off as annoying to some because it seems one sided but she’s a kid who has a big crush and cares a lot about him

Sasuke actually cared for Sakura too but the anime studio animated his actions and expressions way colder than drawn in the manga. However, the scene when Sasuke stood behind Sakura and said 'Thank you' was Sasuke's way of showing concern to Sakura.

On the Orochimaru and Itachi thing, there are many factions in Naruto. Orochimaru used to be in the Akatsuki with Itachi. Orochimaru left and then started his own faction, the sound village. Both Akatsuki and the sound village are bad guys but they are not working together. They have independent goals. Sword of the Stranger for monthly movie!

I think the animation studio somehow did a really bad job of conveying what Sasuke's true feelings towards Sakura actually are. In the manga, you can see much better that Sasuke feels something for Sakura, like he used to blush a lot in her presence or even in the scene now at the end where he leaves the village. In the manga you could see that he was actually really sad about leaving Sakura and also Naruto and Kakashi, but in the anime he just seems cold, the only thing where you could tell here in the anime that he kind of likes Sakura too is where he thanks her just before he knocks her out, or the fact that Sakura really is the only girl he calls by her name or pays regular attention to. I think you have to look really damn well in the anime and read between the lines to realize that Sasuke kinda likes her too in some way
