Michelle's explanation about transformation jutsu is correct. Just want to clarify that what Jiraiya and Naruto summon are toads. Those that are summon are from other locations the animals stay in, not really a magical world. The chief toad Naruto summoned could not hold on to Shukaku the sand demon with it's webbed feet so it needed Naruto to do the signs for transformation jutsu for him and transform into anything with fangs and claws to hold Shukaku down. The toad is still there but has the form of the Ninetails Fox(Kyubi) because what Naruto could think of with fangs and claws was the Ninetails which he met in his internal mind. I want to add that the reason Sakura is one of those Naruto believes is there for him is that she has never shunned from him just because he is rumored to have a demon in him. She has been direct with him, still treats him as a human and only avoid him because he is stupid. Also, because Naruto like her so you know some things are overlooked when you like someone.

I loved these episodes. In dub, when Gamakichi tells Gamabunta that the one tail was picking on him, he responds with ‘come again’ in a way that is so hilarious! Naruto vs Gaara is a really good fight because they are so similar and both have been through similar pain and rejection! Love your reaction!

You got it right at the end, the frog isn't literally the nine tailed fox, they are transformed into his shape through naruto the same way he does his sexy jutsu and transforms into a woman.

About clones being weak, you're right. Clones are much weaker than the original body. That's why shadow clones are barely used for fighting. Their main purpose is reconnaissance and infiltration into dangerous places. A few ultra elite ninjas can use them in battle as diversions, but it's extremely difficult. You have to hide in the middle of the battle, make a single clone, send your weak clone to fight and hold out, and wait for an opening to land your attack (very ninja-like). On the other side, Naruto uses them as an AOE (area) attack, which is not very effective due to clones being very weak. The only reason his clone barrage worked was because Gaara was recovering from the butthole attack. And that previous attack was successful cuz Naruto used his clones as diversion shields.

Michelle was right in her explanation but something to point out naruto was able to transform chief toad to the fox (only his physical form) because the toad allowed it to. As stated the toad wasn’t able to do it himself bc he sucks at it. But you can’t just go around transforming everyone to random animals. Something to keep in mind for the future. Side Note: the toad jiraya pulled up in earlier was a different toad. Like kakashi’s dogs their are other different types of toads with different skill sets.

@Ron In the heat of battle, Naruto is desperately thinking of what to change into (Fangs, Claws + Very Big Sized) Naruto has never changed into something bigger than his own stature. So during the short frame of time, his only image, is the Demon Fox, that has been in his subconsciousness. For the transformation, Naruto combined Gamabunta's physical size + his chakra + his imagery to combine all 3 into a "looks only' Nine tailed fox without the real powers of the Kyuubi.

As many have pointed out, the toad didn't actually transform into THE ninetailed fox, but just like how Naruto can transform his physical appearance into a girl, he used the same jutsu to transform the toad physically into a giant fox with claws but it's not the real nine tailed fox. Also, the summons (toad, Kakashi's dogs, Orochimaru's snakes) are like Pokemons. You make a contract and can summon them from a magical world basically, but they are NOT the same as Naruto's fox or Gaara's raccoon. They are like legendary demon beast animals which reside inside vessel people and can not be summoned out just like a summoning jutsu

I learnt how to like Sakura about the 12th time I've watched Naruto lol. She definitely put Naruto on a friend-zone, but she really care for him, she sees him as a brother and won't let anyone belittle him. I don't know if Naruto really love her on a romantic way, but he can feel that there is a real and strong bound between them. So he do care for every little and odd interactions he have with her.

I think against Gaara he made between 1 or 2 hundred, because I remember later in the show Naruto said that 200 was his limit. That was when he was training and another character took protagonism. So he probably said 4k kick or something just to intimidate Gaara.

As you noticed in this episode, there are big animals in this show. They all live in the same world, but they're usually hidden to protect themselves, kinda the same way shinobis live in hidden villages. The Nine Tails is a special case with a massive amount of chakra. Remember the first episode, it is said the Nine tails can smash mountains and create tidal waves. If something this massive were to be expelled from within Naruto, his small body would be shattered. Imagine to fit a watermelon through a donut hole.

Just to clarify the Fox demon spirit is still inside of Naruto. He just used the image of it to transform the frog’s body and chraka complete the transformation justu. And all the animals have their own mythical lands and will be explained later

On a side not the shadow clone jutsu is a B list ninjutsu that splits your charkra evenly among all clones so to create just one clone you are working with half your charkra, Naruto made 2000 clones to fight in this episode Kakashi said in the land of waves that Naruto has more charkra than him not because of the nine tail but because he was just born with a lot

The frog just transformed to "look" like the fox, it doesn't have the actual power, chakra or strength that the fox would have. Tailed beasts are on a different level which is why gamabunta wants to wake gaara up.

Just so you are aware the anime tends to go out of their way to make Sakura look worse than she is. They make her say stuff she never said in the manga and omit things she actually does say which shows more kindness towards Naruto

To perform a Jutsu you need Chakra (the fuel) and Hand Signs (the instructions). The Transformation Jutsu allows you to take only the form of a person, object, or any living being. In this case Gamabunta provided the chakra (since Naruto's was almost depleted) and Naruto lead the jutsu with his hand signs (that's why he was able to choose which thing they turned into). Naruto is still over Gamabunta's head, but they both are physically transformed only in appereance in the Nine Tails.
