Okay, here is a second surprise! This is the "masterpiece" that I mention in chapter 87 (https://elan.school/87-epiphany/).
This is a very low-res version because I can't seem to dig up a high resolution one at the moment. But yeah, I came up with this weird style when I was in high school (before Elan). I would basically doodle my thoughts but I did it in "code" so if the teacher caught me, they wouldn't be able to read it. So yeah, all of those letters are not meaningless or chosen out of convenience, they all form larger words/sentences and each circle represents an entire thought.
I spent so many hours on this piece. If you zoom in it starts getting crusty looking but that is due to the low-res file. The original piece is very clean and crisp because I outlined all the letters with very thin markers. My dream was to create "letter murals" all over NYC, kind of in the same genre as Keith Haring or Mr. Doodle. I was going to be famous dammit!!!
Funny enough, when I hung this piece up on my wall the first time, I realized it worked like one of those "rorschach tests" or like staring at clouds. I would see different things depending on my mood or which direction I hung the piece in. For quite a long time I remember seeing the cover of Don Quixote (that ink-blot guy on the horse).
What do you see?
I still have the original somewhere and the plan is to make a better scan so I can produce a bunch of prints to throw in as an "extra" for the final packages I send out to Patrons.
