Excellent work as ever Leon.
IMO Bleak gallows humour is timeless, as is really broad humour which is the direction in which my tastes tend to skew. For comedy to work you have to be in on the joke, the whole "Making the best of a bad situation" thing is pretty much universal under capitalism.
Can people please recommend good recent comedies please? I like to watch films with my parents who are both getting on a bit. We have fairly diffuse tastes but comedies are usually a good compromise.
(Subtitles are not an issue).
Things we have enjoyed recently:
Men and Chicken
The Greasy Strangler
The Day Shall Come
Calvary.
(Sorry To Bother You is already on the To Watch list)
