Page 1 - Mary strolls into the diner, apparently oblivious to the fact that she's in her wolf form. Everyone freaks out. As she sits down at the bar, Mary asks Daisy what's got everyone so worked up. Daisy screams, takes a step too far backward, and falls off her platform. Mary, finally realizing she's in her wolf form, grumbles "oh, right. We're still doing the thing where this ain't canon..."
Page 2 - As Mary looks over the counter to check on Daisy, Mercy walks in from around the corner for a refill of her coffee. After striking up an exchange with Mary, Mary asks why she isn't freaking out "about this" as she gestures to her face. Mercy, refilled mug in hand, rolls her eyes - "you're not even the 10th scariest or weirdest thing I've seen this morning!"
...That was what I'd come up with so far, for a comic I thought I might draw over the next week or two while I'm between contract phases. But then Sunday night I found out I do not have a week or two - the next phase starts today or Wednesday, possibly Thursday. On top of that, the only times I'll have a full week off in the next 4-5 months will be for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I should probably just stop making plans, for the time being.
On a different note, this past weekend I made some progress on a character rig I'd started a couple of weeks back - the pirate orc lady pictured above, designed by CyanCapsule, and modeled by Lewdielie! Once it's finished, the idea is that'll it'll be released publicly, so there's that to look forward to! I'm rigging her in Maya, but there are others who may also be rigging the model in Blender.
Why take on a new character, when Daisy is so close to being finished? Less baggage, for one thing. Since this isn't my character or model, I may finish it faster because I'm not as concerned with getting everything perfect. It also gives me a chance to try out some new techniques that I'd be too cautious to attempt on Daisy (I've already learned a few things as a result!).
