Road Fatigue
Added 2020-07-20 01:53:44 +0000 UTCAfter spending the last few weeks in Michigan, I'm now back in Florida! And will be heading north again in 2-3 weeks, to take my niece home. Driving 18-20 hours is not exactly fun, but I trust it more than flying at the moment, even if every stop for gas feels like a game of "OH SHIT IS THIS WHERE I GET THE COVID?!"
The past week or so has been fairly productive, though I may not want to congratulate myself just yet - I've been working on getting my Maya UI designer script to a usable state, and may be close! The other day I made a major breakthrough on how the script organizes its data. Now all that's left is to make it use that data to build a functional window. Then perhaps I can resume work on Daisy's rig, as this script will help me design an interface to make the rig much easier to use.
Getting my UI designer to this point was stressful. It's a complicated script with a lot of parts, and the times I'd be able to work on it over the past week were somewhat limited. A common problem for me is that when I'm working on my laptop, it looks no different than when I'm playing a game or using the internet, so the people me don't know not to disturb me. Next time I'm at my friend's place, I may need to set up an office in his basement, or just get a "fuck off, I'm working" hat.
In other news, my contract has been pushed back again - now it looks like it might be September before the work resumes. For this month, I should at least try to ink & color some of the pinups from April. Next month, if I don't think of any new pinups, then I should at least sit down and thumbnail some of the comics I've been holding off on for the past several months...
