What are my girls up to?
Added 2020-04-05 23:12:30 +0000 UTCHow might my characters be handling the pandemic? I've had ideas for mostly single images, that could be strung together as a comic, with Daisy giving narration. The framing device would be that it's a video update to followers of her online cooking show. Oh and also Daisy has an online cooking show, that before she could only do on the weekends. I might still draw some of these, but it's unlikely I'll have time for all of them...
Anyway, the updates -
Daisy's Diner is still open, but like all other restaurants is limited to take-out orders only, and have reduced hours. It's an even bigger source of stress for Daisy than before. One thing that's helping business, is the regulations have been relaxed so that Daisy's can now serve alcohol, so long as the drinks are provided in a cup with a lid and no straw inserted.
...Aunt Mercy is not allowed inside.
Because of the reduced hours, Daisy has a bit more time to produce more frequent episodes of her online cooking show. Ad revenue and patron support help to keep Candice from foreclosing on the diner!
...to be extra careful, Daisy has also set up an OnlyFans account, under her Cupcake persona. It brings in a lot more than the cooking show. If anyone asks where the money came from, she simply refers to it as a second job that lets her work from home.
Mary-Anne is oblivious to what's going on. Or she was, until she went to the diner. Being so out of the loop might just convince her to get a phone.
Rose is taking full advantage of social distancing and the stay at home order, to do little more than play video games and watch TV all day.
Violet actually misses school, if only for the structure, and hanging out with friends. She misses her & her dad's weekly trips to the comic store more. Dad spends his time making sure she does her homework, even though she doesn't see the point, as the assignments won't be graded.
Mercy is going stir-crazy. She can't go to the pub, or spend her days at Daisy's waiting for the pub to open. No flight club, either. She drank her personal stash of booze within the first week (that would kill a normal person).
Lily is not handling isolation well. She's a hugger, and she's going through withdrawal. Her husband Don is thinking about getting her a puppy, the first chance he gets.
Alice still has to work, because Candice can't go a day without coffee, or having someone to screen and/or hold her calls.
Candice can't not watch at the stock market. She wasn't fast enough to dump her stocks, so now she's waiting for them to rebound, and is agitated that she's too cash-poor at the moment to scoop up certain stocks when they bottom out. Just as well - her father would chide her for having poor judgement. He's usually right when it comes to the market.
Bill is finding ways to pass the time, that don't involve creeping women out. With his auto shop closed, he's building a prosthetic arm for Aimee.
...an arm that Aimee might have trouble using, because she's never had a left arm to begin with.

That only fans idea. Haha I love that.
