A much-needed break

Better(?) news - more work from the same client is expected within a couple of weeks, and could keep me busy for a couple of months. Worst-case scenario, I keep my Patreon's billing paused for those months.
This contract surprised me at every turn, and not in a good way. I spent much of it angry over what I had to deal with. The client at least admitted that the rigs were terrible, but unfortunately couldn't allow them to be fixed, because that might screw up existing assets. At every turn - and I've probably said this several times already - it felt like I was being punished for the previous artists' incompetence.
Some takeaways from this project - it made me feel better about my own rigging tools, because now I know more ways to NOT rig a character. Also that just because a rigging script is popular - in this case, Rapid Rig - doesn't mean it's good. Rapid Rig might be okay if you're learning and have no other options, but based on what I've seen it is NOT a production-ready tool.
Since there will be more work in a couple of weeks, in the meantime I have a long list of tools I need to write, and ideas to test out. If I can't replace the client's rigs with something better, I can at least make them easier to use, especially since next time I may not be the only person on my team using them.
