End of the year report, 2024

Well! It's time for the end of another year, saying goodbye to 2024. It has been quite the time, and while not usually in the good way there is plenty to celebrate as well. I'm not going to try and make this too long, but I want to make sure to give a proper look back at the year before and then turn to the future with 2025.

So for writing it was my first year of using 4thewords, and using that I can say that I have written a total of 1.5 million words this year. That is amazing, even with the amount of stuff that went on that disrupted my scheduling it was something to feel proud of. 2024 also marked the official end of the Iron Pen. They had a good run, but with things getting busier it was harder to set such a thing, and I started with the three-block schedule that is a little more flexible.

This year also marked the start of the massive webcomic project, and so far it's ramping up to be quite the success. While not as far as I would like there are certain comics that have been making quite a bit of ground, and I'm hoping to continue it on in 2025. I also have transitioned the SabredroneNetwork twitch chat with SabrewolfCafe, a more general audience twitch stream. Finally we also saw the formation of Talon, Tooth, and Paw this year, which is a joint video game dev studio that we're attempting to get off the ground.

It's not been all roses though; we had some pretty hard emotional times in the first quarter of the year, an extremely busy middle, and the last few months have been particularly brutal time-wise. There was not a lot we could do about that, but hopefully this is a much better year when it comes to that. But that's all for 2024, now we're moving to 2025!

First things first; get rid of the backlog. Once the writing is done I'm moving to focus more on yhe YCH story prompts and patreon words. In reality though I'm actually moving away from having commission writing being the majority of my focus. I had mentioned this before but with the rebranding of the Sabrewolf Cafe, the webcomic project, and Talon, Tooth, and Paw, all of these will hopefully grow and allow me to focus on things other than writing. While I will still definitely be doing it, aiming for 100k a month, I have so much else I want to do.

I'm hoping that the webcomic project will keep picking up; I want to bring in more artists and its easier to write comic scripts then full commissions. So far people have been enjoying them and two are getting close to trade paperbacks. That plus my traditional book publishing means a lot of stuff to offer on my website. With the lack of conventions I'll also be focusing on getting my storefront up to snuff so that such things can be gotten there more easily.

The other major change is I'm moving from hobbyist streamer to pro streaming, though it won't be the bulk of my focus I want to actually give being a streamer a go. I may also dabble in YouTube, but we'll have to see about that. I think I can make it work, but we'll have to see how that'll work.

So turns out this did go a little longer then usual, but I'm very excited about what's to come in 2025. Hope to see you all in the next year!
