End of the Month Report, June 2019
Added 2019-07-01 00:39:33 +0000 UTCAlright, first month of summer is on the books and what a month it's been. As far as patreon support goes it's been very up and down, thanks to one big donation in particular we've managed to stay on the positive side of things and continue to grow a little bigger. June itself was also full of ups and down as far as work has gone, certain events leading to road blocks while other times I've been striving to get further ahead on my writing as I could. Unfortunately the shot that I called for my goal was not reached this month as far as commissions go, but hopefully come July we can make up for it with a lot more words being thrown down, especially since we have some things going for us then.
I did get quite a few words down this month though and one of the big things was the official finish of phase one of Rain and Shine before the overhaul. Now in all honesty this game is big enough that I could probably release just that part and call it a full fledged VN game, and perhaps there may even be a poll to that effect, but right now we're going back and overhauling the system to provide an even better experience than before. With the update likely releasing tomorrow those at the ten dollar and higher tiers will see exactly all the new upgrades that are happening for the game while I'm also providing a smoother, more streamlined back-end that will be easier to tweak. With most of the content already written the update will likely only take a few months, including the implementation of new art and music now that we have artists for both the backgrounds and the sprites.
Now onto July. July is the month before I'm the Guest of Honor I'm at IndyFurCon so it's got to be all systems go when it comes to getting stuff done. Not only will I be doing commissions and work on the game but I will also be polishing up a website to eventually move certain aspects of Smilodon Studio. I won't mention the company in question but due to a clear signal that my business will no longer be tolerated much longer I'm moving my support base to the website, though hopefully not for sometime. What I will basically be offering on the website is going to be similar to what is offered at that place, just need to work out the logistics.
The other thing is that later in July and possibly August you're going to see a bigger push for growth because the plain and simple of it is that the more funds being pulled in these next to months the more I can commission for Rain and Shine. This is a BIG game already and it requires a lot of art, but I also need to pay off my computer as well so we're hoping that with IFC and a little maneuvering we can greatly increase the support here so that we're not just using placeholders everywhere. This is not a small investment, with the art required it's going to probably run up easily into the thousands of dollars to get all the assets needed to get Rain and Shine into a proper visual novel.
That's about it though, I feel like July is going to be a very productive month and hopefully keep pushing Smilodon Studio into the right direction! One again thank you everyone for your support since without it I couldn't even think about doing what we're doing here.

What about Rain and Shine demo? What currently is there isn't a good representation of current state of the game. Also I would buy what already is there as a game, as paying every month 10$ isn't something I can justify, but paying once for a great game is.
