Originally intended to replace the company's iconic 911, the 928 combined the power, poise, and handling of a sports car with the refinement, comfort, and equipment of a luxury saloon.

The 928 was designed to be a comfortable and luxurious grand tourer.

The 928 has the distinction of being Porsche first production V8 powered model and the only coupé powered by a front-mounted V8 engine.

The GT version, presented at the beginning of 1989, brought a new increase in power to the already powerful S4 version, making this Porsche model one of the most powerful sports cars of the time.

Its 5-litre V8, naturally aspirated, generated up to 326hp, capable of taking its roughly 1600kg of weight from 0-100km/h in just 5.8s, and reaching a top speed of 275km/h (172mph).

Although other 928 models were available in both automatic and manual, the GT was only produced in manual. It is also one of the rarest of all the 928 models with just 2,078 cars produced.

My work

In addition to the visible adjustment of the 3D model to match the European 928 GT version, I adjusted the data files, seeking to achieve performance similar to that of the real model, recorded in several published tests.

Among others, the adjusted values of both the aero, drivetrain, and the power curve, taken from the official Porsche dyno test values, were tested in AC SIM, to confirm the performance obtained, namely speed at a given gear, acceleration and top speed.

Braking performance was also tested.

Finally, dynamic behavior was tested in hotlap mode according to available tracklap time data.

Keeping the models adjusted consistently and according to this methodology, I believe it is possible not only to better recreate the real models, but also to obtain performance results between different models on the track, similar to those that would occur in reality.

There are still improvements to be made, but I think it's already at a good level to be presented.
