The most cryptic building I ever explored. (Story)

A year before recording this video we were attempting to to get in this building. It was fully abandoned, but sealed and sensored-up pretty well, so we didn't manage to explore it. Recently my friend told me that the building was open and fully accessible to the public. I thought it was renovated, but he said "no, it is still technically abandoned". I was very confused, but intrigued. Once we got to the building my confusion didn't fade. As we entered, the weird atmosphere was both creepy and interesting. People wandering the dimly lit hallways, art exhibitions in abandoned office rooms, crumbling walls, completely deserted floors and distant music. With each turn we saw something different and it was exciting.

Often I put on an action cam and film a spontaneous adventure. This is my favourite type of filming - not worrying about the camera at all, just have it record everything. From these type of recording sessions, I have quite a lot of footage that does not fit into the mission/journey format and I thought the best way to share it would be through a story-type of video. I wanted to stand in front of a camera and talk (not in a regular "selfie-stick" manner) for a while. It is fun for me to record these videos, both the action and the explanation. Plus I wanted to start using background music in videos for a while now and it feels nice to do it again. Will do more of these type of videos in the future, so let me know your thoughts.

Also released another new song with a music video :)

That was intriguing. Thx for sharing.

BigPineapple

all I could think of was that you stumbled in to an illuminati gathering

slim_sheady

Doing it your way - that's why I like you, but this one isn't my vibe. Sorry.

Marinus

I’m back with opinion after watching video. I am the biggest fan of standard kind of journeys videos but this one was also great to watch. Felt like some kind documentary movie. Background music felt like it was part of video wasn’t too loud or too silent and that’s great. New song - this one is in my top 3 of yours right now, top 1 is still “Make it back”.

Kama

I like this new style and love your new songs. Specially the ending of ALL THAT MATTERS! Looking forward for your new album 🖤

Getting kicked out of a place full of drifters must be wild

Jet ski Pimp

Joined both Shiey. Important message sent by the usual means. Cheers, John

John Fisher

haha agree I guess it's basically a anti-squat rental (to prevent squatters from taking over the building)

flowen

the Background musik was great!!

ToniBerlin

This was something.

Betruger

Love the story-type of the footage.

Julusch

Spontaneous adventures and the resulting videos from it are the best baby 🖤

Julia Wardetzki

That was tense, my partner was scared through most of it 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Emma Scissorhands

Reminds me of zombie apocalypse survival video games, cool video!

Auri

What an adventure! How can someone kick you out of an abandoned building? hahaha Nice hair cut BTW!

Leah M. Ellers

Yeah, your videos are always enjoyable but this is the first video of yours that I just didn't bother to watch to the end. It looks pretty similar to one of 50 places you can do to in London right now. My ex gf literally had a paid space in a place like this. You'd think it was illegal but she paid to be there and the building was supported by the arts council. So yeah, to me this was you in an art gallery.

rfproject

Awesome! Dark, Strange and Mysterious building 😎 You're so natural in front of the camera too and it works great! Music + vid are both Epic 😊 Love it....Great to see you sooo happy enjoying what you're doing right now.....and as always can't wait to see/hear more....Always-Be safe & Take care out there 🤜🤛

Neen

FYI (before watching video) the best thing about your songs is that they have always very original lyrics and they are not just another songs about nothing. I identify with many. Put on a concert and I will be there first.

Kama

Amazing video, mate!

Gisoupie

Thank you for this. 🖤

ThingThing

What a unique place! I felt like I was in a video game, on the edge of my seat with every creak those metal beams above the theater made. I really enjoyed your narration, adds a welcome touch of your personality and lets it shine. Great format, looking forward to more!

Aerea

Hell yeah I know. I still wanna support him like you are doing with patreon.

Lorenzo

been a patreon since day one and this is one of the most interesting formats you‘ve done! love the docu vibe.

Marco Esposito

I like the atmosphere of this and that the interview segments were filmed at night too. It's a different kind of immersion. The new song is amazing too! You improve with every release, it's fun to see that evolution :) don't stop 🩷

OutdoorCat_V

Love it, breaking the cycle. My wife enjoyed as well, good job!

Freight Pigeon

I feel like I’ve been in very similar circumstances……used to go to house parties hosted in abandoned buildings. Love your commentary!

Mark Zinns

love watching you explore and also the story telling part fits so well with it! new song is a banger, you’re such a versatile artist it’s great and never boring to watch/listen to you

annabunny

Enjoyed the new format, you have a gift for immersive storytelling. Location scouting for a certain concert by chance?

DL5K

I loved that you did something different! A weird experience with some exploring & history. Idky she thought she could kick u guys out lol. I mean she can’t even call the cops but the sneaking part made it more exciting!

Artemis L

Shiey probably has more money than all of us and have you seen how many youtube subscribers he has?

Ian M

I like these abandoned building videos and I was waiting for a room that had a scene out of a SAW movie, but it was more Mission Impossible Movie genre in the end.

Ian M

This is cool and different! More interview/documentary style formats would be super neat. 😁

Katie

Awesome! That was so cool! I would definitely be interested in more videos like this, you explaining the story of an abandoned place in this format.

Andreww

I'm still waiting for danger and contrast physical copies... and I hope the new album will have physical version too. Cmom shiey I wanna give you my money

Lorenzo

Havent seen the video but DUDE THE NEW SONG GOES CRAZYYYYYY

Lorenzo

The background music really added to the creepy atmosphere, kind of made me think of those creepy old silent movies. I liked the alternating between you explaining what was happening and the footage you captured in the building-which was a weird place-never seen anything quite like it. I hope you do more of these, it was interesting.

Heather Wright

well that was certainly an interesting place to explore, so many little side quests.

Vronikka Johannesson

👀 not gunna lie… gave me outlast vibes… cool video as always 🫶🏼 sending love 😘

Selene Jones

Interesting format 👍🏻 I like it! And the music video was so different with the frog perspective 🐸😄 Love them both ❤️

Mrsadams69
