Full Project Update Coming Soon

Hey everyone!

Firstly I need to apologize for the silence, it's not good enough from me and you guys deserve better. I have to admit there's been some burnout personally for me after diving back in shortly after finishing Part Five, but that's no excuse for the lack of updates when operating from a platform like this, I just hope that the work you will see from me will make up for that.

Just a video snippet accompanying this post but a complete update on the Astartes Project and it's future will be coming soon so stay tuned for that.

And a thank you for those who expressed concern over whether I'd befallen some ill fate, I really don't deserve the great supporters you guys are!

Same, never got to see the final chapter

Same, it says video does not exist

Brycw Frost

Did the video get removed as it's not working for me. Says video does not exist.

I've been a painter, builder, player and lover of W40K for nearly 20 years (now I feel old, fuck) and I have to say that the videos you have created are the most exciting and true-to-lore stuff I've seen in... gosh, I don't know how long. You're clearly extremely talented, not only that but from what I can tell, a fan of the W40K universe and the fact that you've plopped yourself down and worked your fingers to the bone for the five episodes of "Astartes" already released should be lauded. The voice work, scene compositions, angles... it's all absolutely fantastic and art of this caliber deserves support and recognition. I've read in the above comments that some people have used the word "scam" and said you "don't care". Even though support through Patreon is voluntary and from the quality of your work it's pretty obvious you do care - about your work. Which frankly should be the thing you care about as it's the reason why people support creators on this platform to begin with. If folks didn't care about their work, Patreon would be a ghost town. You keep doing you, don't feel pressured, don't tire yourself out or work so hard that you lose interest in something you clearly enjoy. Obviously your content is enjoyed by a lot of people, take that to heart. And yes, even though I saw the "lack of updates" I chose to start giving my support as, once again, artists such as yourself come around once in a blue moon and should be lauded and supported for their efforts. PS: Excuse the novel-length comment. o3o

It's not that people are trying to rush him, people just want an update or a "Hey I'm still alive"

Hargart

quality always over quantity keep doing you bud

Now mind your words mister. You are here from your free will and can quit instantly. So calling the author's petreon a scam is harmful (hope this is the right word in english). I'm new here and was expecting active development, bu I still want to give him some money for the amazing work he already did. It is the best 40k animation out there (and god tier animation overall).

Ok i remembered valrak :)

Dont know who Valrak is but dont rush creators or it will end up like Cyberpunk 2077... But yeah a word from the creator from time to time to keep people on track would be helpfull i think...

I got good timing then lolπŸ˜†

Kevin Osborne

dude today valrak said that he spoke with him and soon we will get what we are waiting for

Thanks to both of you, I think a couple more months is a reasonable time to let hope dictate my support, it would be a shame if the first patreon I supported I stopped in the first month.

Kevin Osborne

I am fairly certain more is coming. People have been in contact with the creator and as far as we know the project is proceeding onwards. Many people are having doubts however, because there has been no new communication for some time now. As said, I think you are supporting an amazing ongoing project, but I understand your confusion. Let's hope there is an update soon that clears up the mystery

We are in a period of the longest silence that we've had. Many of us continue supporting simply because of the first 5 releases. It you are here for frequent or any updates about future work, then you will be disappointed. My advice is don't expect anything new and just stop supporting when you personally feel you have supported enough.

I've never used patreon before, that being said I created an account for the sole purpose of supporting this project. But after reading a bunch of comments I'm very confused; is it common for long radio silence? Is the dude still around? Am I paying for something that died in October of 2020? Please go easy on me as I dont understand what I've gotten myself into. Also although it doesn't even need to be said, astates 1-5 is so incredible I can't even.... I don't know how to Express the beauty of that animation. Marvel should be jealous.

Kevin Osborne

I would continue to support if I felt there was going to be another video. Not sure that is the case. I'll subscribe again if I see activity via reddit / youtube. Feels like a scam at this point.

Given the circumstances of this year and current events, lapse in updates isn't the end of the world. Each to there own however so if you feel that way thats up to you, personally I don't mind the wait given the quality. Astates brought me back into 40k after years away , not having been involved for half a decade when I was at college
