it took longer than expected, I apologize
As the memories of what happened when she was caught started returning to her, Zelda looked up to find what was left of her attacker.
The monster that crippled her, was now nothing but a cracked, empty shell hanging from the ceiling.
It looked like a giant cocoon or an egg, and the remains of the thin membrane that trapped her is scattered just below, it hardly resembled the monster before.
Whatever that thing did to her, Zelda knew absolutely nothing about it. There were no mentions of any special kind of Like-Likes that mutilate their victims, so this thing was a new kind of monster... or, at least just a very unique specimen that’s never been seen before.
======================
None of this information helped Zelda though, as she was still left to just sit there, wailing in despair, crippled with no arms, feet, clothes, or even any equipment. She was totally alone, and completely helpless.
The strange part of it all, was how her body seemed to have already adapted to the sudden loss of both her arms and feet, significant body parts that a normal person used every second of their entire life.
The fact that her brain somehow accepted this deformed mental body image as a normal thing disturbed her even more.
She spent a long while there, crying her eyes out wondering what could possibly become of her now.
The faint noise of harsh rain hitting the plants near the entrance of the cave now sounding slightly muffled to her.
After having cried for so long, Zelda reasoned that she had to keep moving forward, that she should never give up. She’s come back from hopeless situations twice before, and this shouldn’t be enough to stop her either.
Thirsty after crying for so long, Zelda remembered the little pond nearby and decided to refresh for a bit.
She crawled on her knees, and slowly scooted herself back to the entrance of the cave.
Moving around was quite painful, her legs lacked the strength to even allow her to balance on her knees anymore, causing her to fall flat on her face any time she tried.
But she is determined, dragging what was left of her legs while her chest made contact with the ground very often, stimulating them as she progressed.
But it all felt a little…unusual.
Zelda looked down at her own body again, this time focusing more on her chest, a region she neglected to look at before. She only needed to take a single glance to discover the cause of this feeling.
Just like her arms and legs, her nipples had disappeared as well, her breasts have been reduced to two simple round balls of smooth flesh on her chest.
Zelda briefly mourned the loss of her nipples, yet continued anyway, letting nothing steal her focus again until she reached her goal.
Having reached the side of the pond, the glowing cave fish swimming inside recoiled upon the sight of the girl invading their living space.
She lunged forward, hydrating herself as fast as she could. The water tasted foul with hints of dirt every time she swallowed, but Zelda couldn’t care anymore, that’s the last thing she could worry about.
Zelda could feel her strength returning to her, glad to feel alive for the first time since she entered the cave.
After having fully freshened up, she sat backward, thighs pressed together, and just took a moment to sit by the water side as she pondered what had happened to her.
“Why did this happen to me? What did I do to deserve this?”, she wondered. The waves in the pond finally stilled when the fish stopped panicking at the sight of Zelda.
“Even the fish seems scared… “ with something to focus on, Zelda finally noticed the anomaly in her eyesight…
“....everything sure is blurry huh, must be from exhaustion”
Zelda leaned a little towards the pool to get a better look at the fish inside just to take her mind off things.
With the pool’s waters having calmed down, she instead saw something far more horrifying staring back.
It was her face, or rather, some alteration of it. Where she was used to seeing her usual green irises with a normal pupil in between, her eyes were now entirely different.
There was not a hint of white to be seen, with her eyes now being fully colored green. Stranger yet, her pupils had mutated, and changed shape from normal dots, to large slits.
They looked terrifying, and not far removed from the evil eyes that the Demon King was known to summon unto his minions.
The sight of her altered eyes caused her to jump back involuntarily as a creeping realization set in. She now understood why the fish were so terrified of her.
It was her eyes; such glaring eyes, with vertical slits instead of round pupils, would surely scare off any who look at them. Whether it’s through the Malice of the Calamity, or the Phantoms of the Demon King, the purest manifestations of evil always had eyes like these, and now she had them herself.
“How could I ever see anyone again like this? How would anyone even want to help me when I look like this?”, she worried.
She wanted to take another look, to confirm one final time that she wasn’t hallucinating,
.... but when she tried to move her legs to get her to sit upright again, she felt something off…
Having not moved since she sat down to stare at the pond, she is now incapable of separating her legs anymore!
From her thighs, and all the way down to her ankles, her legs were now stuck together, as if super glued while she wasn’t looking.
She tried multiple times to break them free, to try and get them to move apart from each other even a little bit, but it was no use.
Any time she put any amount of pressure on the insides of her legs, a painful stretching could be felt, like someone else was pulling on her skin with all their might.
She feared that she would end up hurting herself if she kept trying, but the thought of never being able to separate her legs again terrified her even more.
Still, after spending many more failed attempts trying to separate her legs, she eventually tired herself out, and gave up.
Any normal person would have been devastated already by the simple loss of limbs alone, but seeing her monstrous new eyes now, and having her only remaining limbs fail to obey her command was too much for the princess.
The multitude of heart-breaking factors overwhelmed Zelda.
As a barrage of chaotic thoughts overwhelmed her mind, Zelda passed out on the cave’s floor, drifting off into the world of dreams yet again.
