[second] Discoveries in a new perspective

Chapter 2 - 1

===========================

“Wake up…”

Zelda heard from the depths of her mind.

A tiny speck of yellow light appeared in front of her, before it grew into a torrent of golden rays, pervading her slowly awakening mind. It sounded calm, determined, and very soothing.

The light grew brighter, as the voice grew louder, before slowly fading away as Zelda’s consciousness returned to her. Only then did she realize that it was her own voice that was beckoning her to wake up, all while her mind was piecing together the last bits of information she had before passing out.

She could tell that something was covering her, as it was hard for her to see, hear, or even feel anything. Remembering the moments before she went unconscious, she tried to move her body through all the pressure, all in an effort to escape.

=====================

Much to her surprise, it actually worked, as she could hear the faint noise of what could best be described as ice cracking, before gravity took over and pulled her  to the ground.

She wasn’t free yet, as the tightness remained, but it was lessened in such a way that she could at least feel her entire body now.

However, whatever was covering her was still intact, despite the bruising Zelda now felt. She started checking everything to ensure that nothing was broken, or otherwise wrong.

==============================

Starting with her main senses, she opened her eyes slightly to try and see anything, but whatever was covering her still blocked her vision. She could now only see some red thing right in front of her.

Her eyes were blurry as a result of waking up so suddenly, but what she saw in the corner of her eyes struck her as odd.

The colors heavily shifted from red to blue the further out her vision went, and it didn’t seem to be due to any pattern on whatever thing was draped in front of her.

Zelda deeply focused on her other senses, she could still smell just fine, confirmed by a sickening acidic odor permeating through whatever she was trapped in, and she was still able to hear the rain that was trickling outside, albeit very faintly.

==========================

She proceeded to check her body for any response, it was mostly fine as she moved around her eyes, neck, back, and started working down on to her legs…

until she felt a strange sensation coming over her.

She could still feel her hips, thighs, knees, and lower calves, but the feeling ended there.

When she attempted to move her feet or toes, nothing responded, she could only feel the faint twitch of the muscle attached to her ankles pulling on…

nothing.

===========================

This alarmed her, and she moved her arms to try and break free from whatever she was trapped in.

Well, she tried to move them at least, as the same unfamiliar feeling crept up her body to her arms.

“Mmm… I can’t… feel them anymore.”

She could still move and rotate her shoulders, but… still nothing.

“I must still be very numb from my sleep– I need to escape from this… thing. Everything will be back to normal once I free myself from whatever has trapped me”, Zelda reassured herself.

Moving every muscle she could, she finally managed to tear the thin membrane that was covering her, where the harsh reality of her situation hit her.

========================

She looked down on her body, or rather, what was left of it, to find the truth of what her brain was telling her before. Looking straight down and slightly to the side, there was only smooth skin on her round shoulders, her arms just weren’t there anymore, like they never even existed to begin with.

The same feeling hit her yet again when she looked down at the bottom of her legs to find two pointy nubs of skin where her feet once were.

“No…”, she winced, as the reality of her situation set in.

“This can’t be possible”.

She tried again to move her feet and arms, to try and get any response out of the body parts she clearly knew were now gone, but there simply was no stimulus for her brain to receive.

Zelda began screaming with all the strength her lungs could muster as tears ran down her cheeks.

 “Please! Anybody! Help!” she cried out, as the cave echoed it back to herself multiple times.

“I need help! Someone, save me!” she yelled again, but the only one who was there to hear her was the very person who was pleading to begin with.
