Finally, the Mupen64Plus GlideN64 update bounty seems to be drawing to a close thanks to m4xw!
We will have a brief transition period where there will be a separate core, called Mupen64Plus Next. Mupen64Plus Next will be the latest updated version of Mupen64Plus with the latest version of GLideN64.
Right now, this version should run on Linux 64bit, Android (64bit/32bit), Switch, and Windows 64bit. Once we have the other systems already covered and most of the issues fixed, we will probably replace the old Mupen64Plus core with this one.
You can see here some videos of the new core in action -

More videos will be coming later.
What will this mean for Parallel N64? Not sure yet. We will let you know more once we have some concrete plans on where to go from here to tidy up all the N64 cores under our roof. We might start subdividing Mupen64Plus into several separate cores, where one of them is entirely focused on HLE emulation (like this one), while the other could be LLE-based (multithreaded Angrylion with the LLE RSP). One is focused on performance and graphical enhancements, while the other is for maximum accuracy to the real hardware, at a big performance cost.
For now, be on the lookout for 'Mupen64Plus Next' on our Core Updater!
